Author's POV:

"Dad but I want to go too. Please please please" Jungkook is trying his best to convince his Dad, the head alpha, to allow him to go with others to the mission.

"Can you stop being childish Jungkook for once. I have told you a million times that you can't take part in any fight until you are fully connected with your wolf.  Just how many times we have to remind you that your true blood powers will show only after you are eighteen. It is not like you don't know this already, then why are you being so stubborn?"

"Okay..okay Dad." Jungkook thinks for a minute "can't we delay this mission for couple of weeks??I will take part after my birthday" He is not going to give up easily this time.

"Are you crazy or what?" Head Alpha snapped, "Rogue attacks at our borders are increasing day by day, and we need to send our best men there to make sure our borders are clear and our pack is safe. You want us to delay so that they eventually reach our pack? This is what you want, son?"

Don't get him wrong, he loves Jungkook alot but his son is being too childish in this matter and Head Alpha needs to be stern with him for his own good.

"I am sorry Dad."
Jungkook sighs in defeat.

They don't want to put Jungkook in any risk.  However, that does not mean Jungkook can't fight. He trains everyday with his hyung and other pack members. Even though he has not been able to defeat Tae so far, he has one time knocked off 3 Alpha soldiers at the same time, in human forms of course. He is prohibited to train in his wolf form yet. That would be too dangerous for himself and for others too.

"With whom hyung has to fight with?"
Tae asks upon seeing the younger sulking in his room.

Here's the thing about Jungkook. A minor inconvenience happens in his life and he is found in Tae's room, ready to hide himself in familiar warmth, ready to complain, ready to lay down on him and whine if Tae moves, ready to be pampered by him.

They may tease each other all day or bicker alot, but all it takes is a little spark of sensitivity in Jungkook's doe eyes and Tae is all set to flip the world upside down just to see his bunny smile again..

"Hyung.. why Just me? I can't sit here in ease when half of my pack will be there to deal with those fuckers. They have no idea how much useless I feel this way..."

Tae walks over to his bed, sitting beside Jungkook.

"Come here, little one" He opens his arms for the younger with a soft smile and Jungkook wastes no time in throwing himself on Tae.

Tae runs a hand through Jungkook's smooth hair "Being different is not synonymous to being bad Kook. Just a bit patience more. You know right that your birthday is just around the corner and then you will have all the freedom. We will fight side by side always!"

Tae releases calming pheromones to comfort the younger. He knows how sensitive Jungkook gets, in this matter.

Jungkook releases a satisfying hum as he breathes in the calming scent of the older, finding solace in his best friend's embrace and words.

"I just don't want you to go alone...again" Jungkook mumbles.

Tae pulls away a little to look at younger
"Someone's worried for me?" He says wiggling his eyebrows.

"I was saying for mama. You know that she doesn't even sleep when you are at damn missions."

"I wonder who else doesn't sleep while I am at such missions"

"Definitely Not me." Jungkook says but in contrast to his statement his arms grow tighter around Tae's abdomen who just chuckles amusely at younger's behaviour.

They don't speak after that. Jungkook kept holding onto Taehyung, basking in the warmth of Tae's gentle arms, his eyes fluttered close. Soon enough, he was asleep.

Taehyung heard a snore and smiled to himself. It's always surprising for him, how Jungkook sleeps so fast. On the other hand Tae takes a lot of time to sleep. Maybe it's his past trauma that made him insonmiac or it's just his mind is always in hyperactive state.

He wondered how it feels like to be able to just fall asleep whenever or wherever?

Tae gently lays Jungkook's head on the pillow and covers him with duvet.
His heart swells with adoration as he keeps watching younger's innocent face in sleep. Taking in overall peacefulness of his sleepy state. He brushes back some hair that were falling on kook's forehead messily. Traces the eyebrows softly.

Jungkook is undeniably handsome.

He got sharp features but somehow due to his young age he still has that soft element like slightly chubby cheeks and doe eyes. Jungkook was always pampered by everyone. Specially his mama, dad and taehyung. But as hard as it is to admit, it's the fact that Jungkook's personality is going to change as he grows mature. True bloods maybe normal till their teens but they are known to become ruthless, strong, powerful, arrogant and extremely dominant afterwards. Tae just prays for Jungkook to remain the same...

Even if Jungkook's personality remains the same, their relation will still be effected once Jungkook's mate comes into the picture..

Jungkook stirs in sleep, extending his arms forward to find Tae and whines at finding empty space.

Tae lays down beside him, adjusting Jungkook's head on his arm and once finding himself in familiar warmth, Jungkook snuggles into the older's chest and throwing his leg over the other's hip, he dozes off to a peaceful slumber.

That's how they are. Always seeking each other especially when they are in distress.

"I am tired Kook" Tae whispers, smiles sadly.

"I am so very very tired of pretending" A lone tear escapes his eyes falling on Jungkook's cheek.

It all started from Tae's eighteenth birthday. Taehyung was not a slightest bit happy for his birthday because he was afraid he would find his mate which oddly he didn't want. He himself didn't know the reason. Every werewolf dreams of his mate, his other half and waits for eighteen years of his life to recognize his or her mate. But even after that only lucky ones are able to find theirs. Taehyung prayed day and night to Moon goddess that his mate should not be in this pack so that he can avoid recognizing. His prayers were answered after all. For that he was happy. But the confusion in his heart remained. Why he doesn't want mate?? The mystery remain unsolved for him and for others too. But now when Jungkook's own age of mating is coming near. Similer fear has entered Tae's heart. Maybe Taehyung is just scared of being left behind, being ignored by his only best friend? But if Taehyung just craves attention then he should mate someone right?

Taehyung can't be so selfish to pray for Jungkook to stay mateless like him.

But why does his stomach churns so badly at the thought of Jungkook mating someone?

Taehyung is still trying to understand himself and his feelings. He's trying to justify that after losing his parents, he is just afraid to lose his best friend too. Nothing more.
Imagining other possibilities would simply be delusional.

Beta and Alphas are not  fertile no matter male or female. Moon Goodness would never bound a heir of pack to an infertile rank. Never.

Jungkook's mate was an omega.
It was certain.
