'I can't trust you...'
Taehyung's wolf linked back.
"Why? Do you not know me? We have grown up together in same house...Tell me why you can't trust me?" Jungkook's voice wavered, tears brimming in his eyes as he faced Taehyung's wolf. The wolf's sharp gaze softened at the sight of it's mate's despair, though the memory of past still haunted.
'Truebloods like you, all they know is how to use their rank and power on others.'
Wolves don't have ability to think with reasoning like humans. It could not understand why Jungkook would be different. Why Jungkook, despite being Trueblood could pose no harm. It only had instincts. Instincts to protect their human, not knowing it was only hurting Tae in the process.
When the bitter voice of his mate's wolf echoed in Jungkook's mind, hitting him like a blow, his own wolf whimpered at the accusation. However the statement steeled ravenette's resolve. Slowly, he stepped forward, his heart aching as the wolf instinctively tensed, readying for defense. But Jungkook's next move startled it—he knelt before the great beast, eyes pleading.
"I failed as a best friend. I don't want to fail as a mate too. Please, give me a chance. I can never hurt you, Wolfie, nor will I let anyone else," Jungkook's voice was a quiet plea, his gaze earnest as he looked into those mesmerizing purple eyes.
For a long time, the wolf just stood in it's place, as if contemplating what to say..but then,
'You promise?' The question was asked in Jungkook's mind, tinged with both pain and uncertainty.
Younger repeatedly nodded, a relieved smile on his lips. "Wanna seal it with a hug?" he offered, his arms wide, still being on his knees.
The wolf hesitated, its large form tense with doubt, but curiosity and longing won over. It stepped closer, its powerful body moving with grace, and lowered its snout towards Jungkook neck. The wolf's nose twitched as it drew in the scent of its mate for the first time from this close, the fragrance reminding it of fresh rain in the forest—a scent that felt right, that felt like home.
As the soft fur brushed against Jungkook's chest, the wolf's tension melted away. Jungkook's fingers wove through the thick fur, gently stroking, while the wolf pressed its nose into his scent gland and breathing deeply, savoring the comforting scent.
"Tickles," Jungkook murmured, laughter bubbling up.
The wolf, seemingly finding amusement in Jungkook's giggles, began to nuzzle him more, its large body now fully relaxed, radiating warmth. Jungkook's hand moved to caress the wolf's head, and it responded by licking his cheek in a gentle, almost hesitant motion. The touch was soft, a mark of trust, and it made Jungkook's heart swell.
Jungkook wolf was burning in jealousy wanting to touch it's mate too but Koo strictly says that their mate is not ready yet.
"You are my baby, I can never hurt you" Jungkook managed between giggles, the wolf's strong embrace loosening just enough for him to catch his breath.
