|Logan's POV|
I saw a text from Erica asking if I wanted to meet up with her and grab some lunch. I told her that was fine. She and Lauren were already here when I arrived. I was surprised to see Lauren here. Guess there was a change of plans. Lauren smiled as soon as she saw me, running over. I knelt down to meet her, giving her a hug.
"Hi, Mr. Logan," she quietly said.
I had first met Erica's daughter a couple of months ago. We had a very long talk, cleared the air, and then she invited me for breakfast with her and Lauren. Lauren or Lolo as she called her was her mini mi. Lauren was a beautiful little girl.
"Hey, baby girl. How are you?"
"I'm good. How are you?"
She was polite and well spoken for a 4 year old. She reminded me a lot of my little cousin, Harper.
"Better now that I get to hang out with you."
She smiled.
"What's up, E?" I said standing up and pulling her into a hug.
"Hey, Logan. I know I texted you, but Happy Belated birthday."
She handed me a card. I opened it and read the message from her and saw Lauren drew a picture.
"Like it?" Lauren asked.
I looked down at her.
"I love it. Thank you."
She blushed, hiding behind her mothers leg.
"Can we eat now, mommy?"
"Yeah, love bug."
Lauren grabbed my hand and we walked to the booth. Erica sat on one side. Lauren decided to on the other side next to me.
"Sorry, I was planning to come alone, but then Lauren found out I was coming to see you and wanted to come," Erica stated.
"It's cool. How are you?"
"I'm doing well. It's so good seeing you again. I mean, I know we've kind of been keeping in touch, but..."
"You don't have to explain. The feeling is mutual."
Lauren climbed into my lap, laying her head on my chest.
"Comfortable?"
She nodded. Erica reached in her bag pulling out a coloring book which Lauren was excited to see. She wiggled off my lap and dumped her crayons out, scribbling on the page.
"Here, try this," I said to Lauren.
I repositioned the crayon in her hand and showed her how to color in the lines. The waiter came over taking our orders. He was flirting with Erica as if I wasn't sitting there. She wasn't my girl, but why was I feeling jealous as if she was. Snap out of it, Logan.
"Hey, man, can you just put our orders in so we can eat?"
The waiter gave me a fake smile before excusing himself. Erica laughed once he was a few feet away.
"Really?"
"He's acting like we weren't sitting here. Anyways, there is something I want to talk to you about. It's pretty important and I would rather discuss it with you alone , not with Lauren or in public."
"Um, I can ask my dad to watch her. She'll be going down for a nap anyway and we can go somewhere and talk."
"We can meet at my house. I'll text you the address."
She gave me a half smile.
"Okay."
The waiter eventually came back with our food and Lauren didn't want anything her mother ordered for her and instead wanted what I had.
