Her fears

–Akanksha–

When we finally hopped out of the car at my house, Jai came to stand in front of me. I craned my head to look at him.

Jaiveer.

It's not just a name nor a man to me.

It's….

My hero.

My confidante.

My happiness.

My craziness.

My love.

My next breath.

My soul.

The man who broke down all my walls and placed himself on the throne in my heart just like a king.

The man who had been with me on my worst days.

The man who had celebrated my victories just like they were his.

The man who has become everything to me.

All these years, one fear kept on poking me. That Jai's family might not accept me. Though he kept on assuring me that his family will accept me with open arms, I don't know why but that fear never left me.

I came out of my thoughts when I felt his lips pecking mine. I looked up at him and this time I noticed the tiredness in his face which I failed to notice before. Raising my hand, I traced the dark circles that formed beneath his beautiful brown eyes.

Leaning into my touch he whispered, "Keep trusting me, ok."

I nodded. He doesn't need to say that. Even if he steps over my heart and crushes it completely, I can never stop trusting him.

"I promise to solve everything." He said and I again nodded.

Cupping my face with his big hands he leaned down and kissed the tip of my nose. I don't know why but I melt immediately whenever he does that.

"What about your brother?" He asked and I sighed. It's a huge task for me to explain everything to him now.

"I'll handle him." I said.

He nodded, "Take proper rest. I'll meet you again."

I nodded. Dropping one last kiss on my forehead, he hopped inside and drove away.

Just like every time whenever he walks away from me, an unknown fear crept up in my chest. This time there is a reason for my fear because though he assured me that he will find a solution but what if he can't?

It's not as easy as he thinks because whatever decision he and his family takes, it just becomes a sensation considering the influence they have in society. At first I hesitated to move closely with Jai considering their popularity but Jai's simplicity and his caring made me fall for him. Head over heels. And I very well know how much I mean to him.

I know for sure that he will fight for us but what if he can't win. Should I end up losing him? Can I bear the pain of losing him?

And added cherry to this mess is his bride being Deshmukh. There isn't a person in India who hasn't heard the name of Prakash Deshmukh.

As intelligent as he is, as humble as he is, as dangerous as he is too. Saying no to him is not someone dreams of. Now, can Jai say no to him and break the alliance?

With a heavy heart and numerous fears that clouded me, I dragged my feet into my house. As soon as I stepped inside the living room, my gaze fell on my brother who was pacing across the room.

Dilip Singhania. 32 year old civil engineer by profession. He is working for a private company here in Mumbai. My family lives in Pune and because of our education and job, Bhai and I shifted here to Mumbai.
