Still at a distance

~~Jaiveer~~

The moment I choose Adiraj is the moment I chose his mother. But it's not a simple thing to accept her. It's not a simple thing for my heart to forget Akki and start loving Advika. But Advika is a part of our family and whatever it is, family comes first. Hell, she became a part of our family the moment Robin tied the knot with her. She might not be living with us all these years but she still is a part of our family and so it's my responsibility to take care of her.

But everything that's happening around is going at a very fast speed that I couldn't catch. I need a break from all these to think through. When I communicated the same with Papa, he suggested that I go somewhere for a few days. But I just feel that going alone and spending my time leisurely will only make me even more anxious.

And so Papa suggested that I take up a project that our company is dealing with the London company. Our company is in the process of acquiring the patent rights from that London company who got registered for the new web application they developed. Initially I was not in the project because my hands were full with the other works but right now though I'm immersed with work, I have no idea what I was actually doing. That's how pathetic I became with work.

And so, I got myself busy for the next month. Since I joined the team that was dealing with that London company a bit late, I had to work more. My nights and mornings got even more busy with work and it really helped me to get my mind off many things. I know that I'm still staying away from Advika but it's all good for now. I need to clear my mind off before taking a step with her.

And for my little Pooh, he started throwing tantrums because I'm busy so I adjusted my timing to spend time with him.

After an entire month of continuous brainstorming, we finally made conclusions with our deal and will be leaving for London in two days for finalizing it. So far we are assuming that we need to stay for a week there.

____________

Tonight, we purposefully made Adiraj sleep early because I have a flight to board and I bet he won't let me go if he sees me leaving.

After handing my luggage to my driver, I turned around to Papa, Maa and Advika. Anu too has also gone to bed early because she has to attend college tomorrow.

"Be careful while dealing with them, Jai. Don't let our team down." Papa said, patting my shoulder. I nodded.

"Eat properly. Take care of your health." Maa said.

I scowled, "I'm going there only for a week or two, Maa."

"So? A week is enough to deteriorate your health."

I shook my head. Then we fell silent for a moment.

"Ready sir." Driver said after loading my luggage into the car.

I then turned towards Advika who had been standing silently.

"Umm… I have some work in the kitchen."

"Errr.. l left my work in the middle."

Making pathetic excuses about work at 10 p.m., Maa and Papa rushed inside leaving me and Advika.

I know I don't want to leave Adiraj but it's not just Adiraj that occupied my thoughts, it's his mother too. In all these months of our marriage, our relationship was not at all great. We only conversed with each other only when it was needed. We hadn't even bothered to act like a couple in front of everyone but I can damn sure tell that something has started to change between us. We started being comfortable around each other. We started being there for each other but again, with the new found information, I myself threw us back again to be strangers.
