~~Advika~~
Perching up on the small table in our fitting room, I pulled up my right leg and placed it in the chair sitting in front of the table. Supporting my notepad on my right knee, I started jotting down the instructions my client is firing out while our tailor is taking down her measurements.
Word after word started spreading about me and my work. Also being brought into the limelight has become beneficial to me. Though I hate being in the spotlight, this time it felt good. Also I became a personal designer for Dixit's and they are not even hesitating to spread a word about me. This much love from them started to feel suffocating me. I don't know how I would even manage to go through this divorce thing smoothly.
And with each passing day, my work gradually increased and I also hired some more people. Though I'm not good with new people, Shraddha looked after it for me. Also having new people on board with me helped me in reducing my work and spending more time with my Adiraj. It's high time for me to stop escaping into work and start looking after my baby boy. He is growing at a fast pace and soon I need to start making big decisions for him. I don't know how I'm going to do it, though.
"Can I have a moment of your time, my Rose??" My father's voice brought me back from my work and from my thoughts.
Turning around I found him standing at the door of the fitting room.
"Papa!!" I beamed seeing him. Dropping my notepad on the table, I walked or almost ran up to him.
"What brought you here at this time??" I asked. It's his usual time of being busy with meetings.
"Just dropped by and I also have something to tell you." He replied smiling.
Nodding, I turned to other people in the room, "You guys carry on. I'll just come."
After receiving their nods, I walked my father to my room and made him sit in my chair. How much I wish to see Viraj sitting there? We often talked about opening a store by myself but I was only interested in my designs while I wanted to dump all the remaining responsibilities over his shoulders. But again nothing will happen according to our plans, right??
"Wanna drink or eat something??" I asked him, perching upon my table.
"No. I can't stay long. I have a meeting."
Just as I thought, "So, what is that you wanted to talk about??"
Leaning against into the chair comfortably, he looked up at me, "Deepak called."
Deepak Mehra. My father's best friend. Since from their diapers. They both were mostly like brothers. So, I always address him as papa. Along with my father he too started his own business and grew into power in no time. But unlike my father, Deepak papa is soft. Even in his business.
"What did he say?" I asked.
"Harsh is coming the day after tomorrow."
As soon as the words hit my ears, happiness blossomed in me and I grinned from ear to ear, "That's good!!"
My father raised a brow, "Permanently."
"Really??!!" I almost screamed in excitement.
Smiling, my father nodded, "And he agreed to take after Deepak."
I scowled, "That's too soon." Harsh always wanted to take over the business after Deepak papa's reign. But he never wanted to do it this soon. He wanted to enjoy his life to the fullest before he took over. That's one of the reasons why he ran abroad in the guise of looking after their overseas branches. Then what made him change his decision now?
