~~Jaiveer~~
I tossed from left to right in my bed to get a comfortable position to sleep. Last few days have really been so hectic. Since my last conversation with Neeraj Bhai at Mr. Mehra's party, I understood where my thoughts and feelings were going. Since then I started being extra careful and buried myself into my work. And also Akki got placed into a big project and her work sort of tripled.
She was working day and night and still couldn't be on time. So Dilip and I took some work from her and was helping her. With my work and also with Akki's work on my shoulders, the last few days have been tiring and they completely drained me off. And sleeping off on the living room couch at Akki's house felt even more burdened.
So tonight I came back home wanting to provide a comfortable sleep to my body. Though my mind and body are completely drained, it's taking a bit of time for me to embrace sleep. It's already past midnight and my eyes started to slowly droop inviting me into the sweetness of sleep but suddenly I jolted woke up when something shook me.
With my sleepy eyes, I looked to my right and found a small figure at the edge of my bed. I quickly switched on the bedside lamp and rubbed my eyes. As I already noticed, it's none other than her son who is standing at the edge of my bed and is asking me continuously.
Sitting up straight I looked at him, "What's wrong??"
In all these months of staying together, he never acknowledged me. Then what happened tonight that made him wake me up in the middle of the night.
He then pointed his little right forefinger to his mother. My brows drew together in confusion.
"What happened?" I asked again.
He then held my right hand little finger with his left hand and tugged it forward.
I stepped down from my bed and walked with him to his mother. He then kept on shaking her but there was no response from her. I looked at him who is now staring at me with his tear filled eyes. That literally pained my heart.
I moved closer and leaned down to her, "Advika." I called but there was no response. I gently tapped her on her cheek to wake her up but still no response.
"Advika." This time I shook her vigorously but still no response. I then placed my hand on her forehead and trust me that it's a miracle that my hand hadn't got burned. That's how much heat her body is emanating.
"Advika!!!" I shook her vigorously. For a moment I panicked and couldn't understand what to do.
Then I immediately raced to the door and opened it. Coming back to Advika, I leaned down and picked her up into my arms. She felt limp in my arms but I choose to not panic.
"Baby, move aside." I addressed the little man and hurried out of the room with Advika in my arms. I walked down the stairs all the while shouting for my parents, guards and helpers to wake up.
Walking into the living room, I placed Advika on the couch. While looking around for someone or something for help, I noticed that her son was running down the stairs, "Baby!! Careful!!" I screamed and he stopped in his tracks.
By this time I noticed that our helpers woke up and they switched on the lights. I ordered them to open the doors and get the car ready. I again bent down and picked up Advika into my arms.
"Jai!! What happened??" I heard my father's voice behind me.
"She's burning up. I'm taking her to hospital and you guys look after him."
Without waiting for their reply, I walked out of the house with Advika in my arms. One of our guards has already kept the car ready in the driveway. I placed Advika into the back seat and settled beside her. Placing Advika's head on my lap, I tried my level best to wake her up. Her motionless body and pale face started creating havoc within me.
