Mark was frozen up when Donghyuck told him about Dongmin. It was not that he was in disbelief that Dongmin was not Donghyuck's son because they look so alike, but he was more surprised to actually hear it coming from the older's mouth when he was literally imagining him and Donghyuck having a family as Dongmin was both of their son. He was also confused as well. How could a male give birth to a child, let alone become pregnant with one? It did not really make any sense to him, but he was not doubting it was not true.

In fact, a part of Mark was happy to find out that Donghyuck was Dongmin's birth father despite his confusion and questions he wanted to ask. Then Mark thought about why the younger had to give Dongmin to him instead of staying with each other. He also wanted to know why Donghyuck did not tell him this sooner as he thought about the letter he received when Dongmin first arrived at his doorstep.

Mark,

I'm so sorry that I've kept this from you, but I'm going through a difficult time right now. Please take care of Dongmin, your son, and I promise I will come back to him as soon as possible.

He is currently one year old and his birthday is March 2nd.

I'm sorry again, please forgive me...

The memory of the letter made Mark frown and he wondered what could Donghyuck have possibly been going through that he had to give Dongmin to him so abruptly. He felt terrible that the younger had gone through this all alone, only to end up giving his son away to him. He could imagine the pain Donghyuck must have went through when he had given Dongmin to him. No wonder why Dongmin and Donghyuck were so attached. Donghyuck was Dongmin's Papa and Dongmin was Donghyuck's son.

Then another thought and question came to Mark's mind. Dongmin. Did Dongmin know that Donghyuck was his Papa? It had to be because Dongmin was not even that attached when Mark first got him and it took him a long time for Dongmin to be comfortable around him. Heck, the kid has not even called Mark daddy yet. It hurt Mark a little, but he knew his son was still adjusting to everything and he understood.

All these thoughts went through the author's mind as Donghyuck ran away and into the club, leaving Mark to call out for the younger but it was too late since he was already inside. Mark stood there for a minutes more before walking back to his car. He was not going to force the younger to talk about it right now. They can have a talk tomorrow and maybe Mark might invite Donghyuck over so that Dongmin can spend more time with his papa outside of the daycare.

Mark so badly wanted to call or at least leave a message to Donghyuck, but he knew that probably was not a good idea because the younger gets overwhelmed and anxious with things easily. He wanted to try allowing Donghyuck have his space to breathe and think clearly instead of forcing answers out of the male. He knew Donghyuck too well and he knew how Donghyuck reacted when things get too extreme. He did not want the younger to hurt himself and pass out.

For now, Mark will keep their conversation on pause so that the both of them could think everything over clearly to process a clear mindset. All of these things were what was going through Mark's mind as he drove to his mom's house to pick Dongmin up and take him home. They arrived back at his condominium after eight as Mark unbuckled Dongmin from his car seat. He wondered what would happen if he were to ask Dongmin about his papa. But he chose not to do that.

Dongmin was showered and tucked into his bed as Mark sat beside him with a book in his hand to read to his son. Mark read the book with enthusiasm and mimicked voices of characters he thought would sound like, earning a giggle from the little boy. Mark finished the book and Dongmin was still awake, staring at his daddy with his big round brown eyes. It hit Mark right there, how much Donghyuck and Dongmin looked alike. It made him smile as he planted a soft kiss on his son's forehead.
