Hoisting his son up, Donghyuck sat Dongmin on his hip with one arm for support as his free hand ruffled the little boy's hair—Dongmin emitting his melodic giggle, a sound Donghyuck missed hearing so much while the almost three year instantly wrapped his tiny arms around the tanned male's neck. Donghyuck felt his eyes brim with tears as he sucked in a breath to keep his emotions under control, Taeyong observing with a fond smile as he came back with the breakfast cart for Donghyuck.
"Has Minmin been a good boy while I was away?" Donghyuck asked cutely with a brow raised as Dongmin pulled away, flashing his signature smirk with a nod which made the tanned male take that as a 'not as good as he would have hoped' type of response. Donghyuck shook his head at his little boy in his arms and puffed his cheeks. "Have you been giving daddy a hard time?" Donghyuck asked another.
"Minmin good! Minmin good!" Dongmin exclaimed, poking his papa's puffed cheeks before giving them a kiss. Donghyuck beamed at his son before placing him down, "Are you hungry?" Dongmin nodded his head before running towards the cart of food where Taeyong was handing out each baggie of breakfast to the seated students. Dongmin impatiently bounced in his spot as Taeyong finished handing out the food and looked at the little fluffy haired boy, hands on his hips.
"Dongmin, remember what I told you yesterday? You have to be seated first so I can give you your breakfast," Taeyong kindly reminded as Dongmin rushed over to an empty seat, kicking his legs as Taeyong placed the bag of food in front of the little boy's desk. Dongmin stuffed his face with his meal as Donghyuck chuckled, Taeyong averting his eyes to the tanned male as he walked towards him.
"How do you feel?" Taeyong asked the red head who nodded his head with a small smile, eyes never leaving Dongmin as responded, "Better." Taeyong could tell that Dongmin was who Donghyuck was missing in his life. Though Donghyuck was always down and gloomy, his whole demeanor would change once Dongmin was around. Dongmin was Donghyuck's source of happiness and it was evidently written all of the tanned male's face. "You look it and I'm happy."
Just as Dongmin brought happiness to Donghyuck, he also brought trouble with him. How? One might ask...well Dongmin has been quite the character during their class time. Taeyong and Donghyuck were supposed to be singing the alphabet song with the kids, adding a little step touch with a clap to allow the kids to have fun and be more involved. All the students were standing on the circular alphabet rug, singing their ABCs aside from one particular little brown haired boy who kept running in circles.
"Dongmin, why don't you try standing and singing with us?" Taeyong suggested to the boy, walking closer to him as Dongmin smirked and ran from the blonde who almost caught him. Taeyong tsked. It was not that Dongmin was a bad kid, he was just hyper and liked to have fun and there was absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, there was a time and a place and what Dongmin was doing right now, that would be considered to be done during recess time.
Taeyong had to come up with a way to grab Dongmin's attention, find out what he enjoys and maybe use that to his advantage to help the boy cooperate to learn. The little boy was not like this yesterday, but maybe he feels comfortable since his papa was here and doing okay. As this was going on, Donghyuck was leading the alphabet song while worrying that his son was giving Taeyong such a hard time. Dongmin was hiding underneath the desks as Taeyong calmly walked over to him, crouching down to the little boy's level.
"Dongmin, I know you want to play right now, but playtime is not until a little while," Taeyong began watching as the little boy's smirk turned into a pout with his eye brows furrowed. "Why?" Dongmin asked, sitting crisscross under the desk with his arms lapped over his chest as if he were hugging himself—trying to cross his arms, but he did not understand how to—while Taeyong remained with a smile on his face.
