You've been friends with *Ava for years. The two of you were practically sisters with how much time you spent together.
(I know Hobi's sister's name is Ji-Woo but I want to refrain from including any other real person aside from BTS in any of my stories.)
Ava is the type of girl who pushes you out of your comfort zone. She's quite extroverted in ways you'd never be. It never made sense why she picked you to be her best friend, but you never questioned it either. You were hardly what anyone would call a social butterfly, but with Ava around, it made you seem more approachable to them.
"Y/n!" Ava calls for you as you were tiredly walking towards the convenience store.
You didn't get much sleep last night due to the constant nagging reminder of unfinished assignments you needed to finish, but first, you were in desperate need of coffee in order to wake up.
"You're up early." You comment in a tired tone.
"I got up to get in a quick workout. Hobi wanted me to workout with him." She replies brightly.
Your smile tightens. You swear Hoseok doesn't like you, but you could never say that out loud to Ava. She and Hoseok were super close, something you and your siblings weren't.
You don't know why you get the feeling that Hoseok doesn't like you, but you swear it to be true. Sure, he treats you with kindness when Ava's around, but when it's just you and Hoseok, there's tension in the air, as if there are things he'd like to say but refrains from doing so.
"Ah, he's doing morning workouts now?" You ask indifferently.
You weren't necessarily interested, but she's your best friend and you didn't want to come off as dismissive. She looked ecstatic at the accomplishment of getting in an early morning workout. Ava was hardly the type to wake up early in the morning.
"Something like that. His tennis coach wanted him to add more workouts to his training and I wanted to be a supportive sister." She replies with a shrug. She follows you into the convenience store as you beeline to the coffee machines.
Your own coffeemaker had broken and as a college student you didn't want to spend any of your extra money to replace an appliance just yet. You'll get a new one eventually, but for now this is the best you can do given your current budget.
"That's very generous of you." You comment before adding, "I'm surprised the two of you didn't get breakfast together."
Ava smiles brightly before saying, "We were but then I saw you and rushed over. Hoseok is probably heading towards his dorm."
You couldn't help but think it's because he didn't want to ruin his morning by being in your presence. You keep that thought to yourself though. The last thing you want to do is sour you best friend's bright mood.
"So what are your plans now?" You ask as you finish paying for your coffee.
