Jin was busy with a capital B. His work day was unrelenting and filled with meetings that it was almost nauseating to endure. His poor secretary barely had enough time to take his lunch, considering he was the one who organized his schedule. Jin was about to enter another meeting when he received a text from y/n. His walking comes to a complete halt as he feels the sudden urge to do nothing else but speak with her.

It had been almost a week since he cooked dinner for y/n and he hadn't the time to spare to meet with her again. He enjoyed that night, wishing his circumstances were different in order to lead a normal life. Jin eagerly reads the text message.

From Y/n: You ever want to just crawl into bed only to never resurface.

A broad smile pulls across his face as he wonders what could have possibly happened for y/n to write this.

To Y/n: Rough day at work?

Jin glances at the conference room he's supposed to be entering and sighs. If he had only declined the CEO position, he wouldn't be in this situation, not like that was really an option for him. Putting away his phone, he enters the room and carries on with his schedule. The meeting takes longer than Jin would have liked, but he had to get it done.

From Y/n: You have no idea.

From Y/n: Any plans tonight?

From Y/n: Nvm, I have to attend an event tonight. I'll see you around.

Jin sighs, wishing he would've replied earlier. He wouldn't have minded spending the evening with Y/n if it meant momentarily forgetting the responsibilities he had to take on after his father retired from the company.

Jin never wanted to take over KS Enterprise, but had no say in the matter. His younger brother was still getting his degree and he couldn't simply decline it, not without an argument ensuing. The responsibility placed on his shoulders were often too heavy for him to bare, but his options were limited if he was to remain a dutiful son.

Jin really didn't know what he wanted, but taking on the future of a conglomerate really wasn't it. His passion lies elsewhere, not being holed up in business meetings centered around whether the company is hitting their target profit margins.

To Y/n: Sorry for the late reply! I was stuck at work. I thought it would never end. What event are you going to, maybe I can swing by?

Jin cringes at his bold invite. He wasn't one that normally invites himself to things, but he could use some of Y/n's witty humor to get his mind off of work.

He recalls how dinner went last week and how it felt completely natural to talk with Y/n. The conversation never felt strained or forced. He hadn't anticipated any of it to happen if he were being honest. But when he saw y/n at the store, he felt compelled to introduce himself to her.

In all honesty, he had wanted to speak with her at the party, but never got around to it. She was always speaking with other people that he didn't want to intrude on the conversation they were having. Not to mention his friends kept roping him into conversations that when he finally had a moment to spare, she had already left.
