Jimin understood his charm held certain privileges that others weren't necessarily blessed with. His charismatic personality paired with unblemished features often granted him a ticket into anyone's good graces. He had a way with words that often lured people in rather than making them run for the hills. It's why he had no idea why y/n seemed to be so unresponsive to him. Jimin wasn't expecting her to swoon, but expressing any emotion would have sufficed.
The two were currently sitting at a secluded table in the back of the library. It offered enough privacy that the two could speak freely without bothering bystanders with their chatter. Y/n had arrived on time, bypassing small talk and pleasantries before making quick work on their project. Jimin was so impressed by her laser-focused attitude that he wasn't sure how he could even contribute to the project. It was as if she had drawn up a game plan that detailed what steps were necessary to take in order to achieve a good grade.
"I'll have you be in charge of the artist's background details. Be sure to include family background too." She instructs, her eyes barely leaving the laptop screen as she speaks.
"Yeah, that sounds good." Jimin manages to say.
"It shouldn't take you more than a day and if you have any issues, we can exchange emails to avoid having to meet up in person." Y/n adds on, finally glancing up at Jimin to see whether he's in favor of this decision.
Jimin is momentarily taken aback. Although he's not new to the concept of someone not being interested in him, they were polite enough to have a conversation with him. Y/n spoke with direct intent, leaving no room for veering off-topic. Her demeanor wasn't rude either. In fact, Jimin might say that she had an agreeable personality, but it was the way she kept the conversation on track that hinted there'd be no room for socializing.
"And deny you the privilege of my presence? Is that what you really want?" Jimin asks playfully, expecting y/n to crack a smile.
Instead, her lips pursed together while overall expression held indifference.
"Sorry, lame joke." Jimin mumbles out before adding, "I don't mind these in-person meetings."
Y/n's brows raise with surprise. "I figured you'd have more interesting things to do with your time rather than squabble it away."
Jimin chuckles. "Who unironically uses the word squabble?" He jokes, pleased to see y/n's lips tug to the side to form a small smile.
"I do." She admits without hesitation. "I guess we can meet at least once more for final revisions."
"You're probably the most efficient partner I ever had." Jimin comments as y/n begins packing away her things.
She chuckles, another small victory for Jimin. "I just like to get things done as quickly as possible so that we don't have to worry about it later."
Jimin nods his head in agreement. "Normally I'm a procrastinator who shines at the last minute."
Y/n's face crinkles, her brows furrowing together and her nose scrunching. "I will throw a book at you if you do that for this project."
