"You're making me nervous." You say to Jungkook who kept bouncing his right leg, causing the clothed table to shake from it.
"Can you blame me?" He asks with an incredulous expression crossing his features.
The two of you had arrived at the restaurant earlier than planned. Everything was going fine until Jungkook started asking about your friends. You'd answer him candidly, watching as he grew nervous with each reply. You tell him that they're nice people, reminding him that there's nothing to worry over, but it does little to ease his nerves.
"They're gonna love you." You say to Jungkook who continues to nervously play with his lip ring. You've never seen him nervous, so a part of you finds his behavior so endearing.
"But what if they don't?" He asks, his teeth still worrying over his lip ring.
You've been dating Jungkook for a few months now and you've never seen him look so worried or nervous. It spills warmth in your chest to see him wanting to make a good impression with your friends.
Breathing out a laugh, you say, "If they don't then we'll manage. Believe me, if there was anyone who judges harshly in my friend group, it's me."
Jungkook chuckles. "You are a bit judgy." He teases as you scrunch your face at him. Hearing him joke is a ringing endorsement that he's slowly relaxing, which is what you wanted.
"Just be yourself." You encourage, earning a broad grin from him.
Meleana and Lily arrived not long after. They've been your best friends since high school and though you don't always hang out with them, they're still a big part of your life. A lot of milestones you've reached in your life was often accompanied with them by your side.
"Hey y/n!" Mel says in a bright tone.
You pull your friends in for a hug before their collective gaze goes to Jungkook who forces a smile on his face to cover the nervous glint in his eyes. You mouth at him to relax, which he does by a fraction.
"You must be Jungkook." Lily comments before adding, "We heard a lot about you."
Jungkook's face flushes with embarrassment before saying, "Was I really that terrible of a neighbor?"
His question earns a round of laughter as you say, "Yeah, you were. But that was then." You ease the scowl from his face by placing a quick kiss to his cheek.
The meal goes pleasantly well despite Jungkook occasionally being the brunt of the jokes told at the table. You cautioned your friends to be nice, sparing them a pointed stare in their direction. They eased up a bit, though Jungkook said he was fine with it. You knew he had a good sense of humor, but you didn't want to feel like he needed to take it in order to be on good terms with your friends.
When Jungkook excuses himself to take a phone call, you're left with Mel and Lily. Mel comments how she likes Jungkook being a good sport about the jokes.
