"You look a little pale...and distracted." Gia comments from behind you, startling you from your reverie.
You had been standing on the balcony, looking over the lush garden. Your thoughts felt tangled with so much crap, a lot of which you hadn't shared with Gia–at least, not in full detail.
"It's my wedding day." Gia reminds you gently before adding, "I'm supposed to be the one that needs to be talked down from the ledge."
You breathe out a soft laugh. "Sorry, I was just spazzing." You say while shaking your head as if the gesture were like an etch-a-sketch that could erase the intruding thoughts that clouded your mind.
These past few days have felt like a rollercoaster of emotions. One minute you were happy and the next it was like plummeting into concrete. Things with Jin have felt strained despite the two of you desperately trying to find some leveled ground with one another, at least until you leave for London.
Tomorrow...tomorrow is our last day together. You think to yourself, a forlorn expression crossing your features.
Gia spares you a sympathetic expression before motioning you to sit beside her. The two of you were currently at her wedding venue, getting ready in the master suite with the other bridesmaids. In fact, the wedding will be starting in just a few short hours which is why you tried to muster up any form of "being okay" you could. It takes a concentrated effort to not spiral, considering everything you've found out in a matter of days.
"What's on your mind?" Gia asks as you sit beside her.
"I refuse to be the dark cloud on your wedding day." You reply with a sigh. "Besides, this is something I should sort through myself."
Gia rolls her eyes. "I'm looking for a distraction. Believe me, if you don't distract me, I'll be plagued with thoughts of flower arrangements and seating choices–both of which I really don't want to think about since there's nothing that can be done about it anyway."
Your teeth worry over your bottom lip as you consider how much to tell Gia because it was a lot. Noticing the contemplative expression on your face, Gia adds in a gentle tone, "Start from the beginning and let it out."
With that little push, you feel a dam inside of you slowly crack until you're spilling with truth, all of it coming out like a flood.

Earlier that week...
"Hey, thanks for meeting me at the last minute." You tell the property manager–a middle aged man who would occasionally visit the apartment for inspections.
You had just finished the last of your packing, making arrangements with a moving company to come get your things and prep them to deliver it to the new address you'll be temporarily staying at in London. Everything seemed to happen so seamlessly that you couldn't help but feel that something was bound to happen. Luck was not something that came easily to you, which is why you felt a little on edge about it all, as if something bad were bound to happen at any moment.
