You were doing a good job at avoiding Hoseok at all costs. It's not that you felt you did anything wrong, but ever since your run-in with him at the library, you weren't sure how you were gonna face him again. It was a brief moment that felt entirely too intimate, more intimate than anything you've experienced before. And what's worse is that you couldn't confide any of this with Ava. It's not that you fear she would be upset, although it does pose a possibility, but rather you didn't even know how to explain it.
"You're bailing again?" Ava whines as she flops onto your tiny, twin bed.
She was currently in your dorm, begging you to meet up with her and Hoseok for a night out. You were playing it cool though, claiming that you had unfinished work to complete.
"You're like the only one who doesn't come out anymore. What's up with that?" She presses.
You chew on your bottom lip, considering how to answer. You weren't good at lying and even if you tried, Ava would know and call you out on it. Your excuse of having school work to complete wasn't a total lie. However, you just excluded the small fact that you had a few more weeks before it was due.
"What can I say, being a psych major comes with a lot of homework." You reply.
Ava rolls her eyes. "I'm not taking no for an answer. If I have to drag you out by your hair, I'll do it." She threatens.
This time you roll your eyes at her. "Don't resort to being dramatic." Ava simply responds by throwing a pillow at your head.
"C'mon! The three of us haven't hung out in forever. Besides, I think Hobi is bringing Hyungwon too. Didn't you have a crush on him before?" Ava teases.
Your eyes widen as you fly the pillow back at her. Hyungwon, Hoseok's best friend since forever, had been a brief, fleeting crush. You had gotten over it faster than it had manifested.
"Shut up." You mutter before adding, "That was years ago and I've moved on since."
It was then that Hoseok's face popped into your mind, causing you to blush fiercely. You swear under your breath as you try to push any thoughts of him out of your mind.
"Whatever, we're getting food, maybe some drinks, and catching up." Ava pleads, puffing out her bottom lip to form a pout.
Your face scrunches. "Fine, but I'm leaving early." You say sternly, earning a squeal of excitement from her.
The two of you end up getting ready together. You opt to wear something comfortable and casual. Ava on the other hand, wears something that's more suited for clubbing which only makes you question what was on the agenda this evening.
"Are you sure this is just a dinner thing?" You ask suspiciously.
Ava waves you off. "I mean, we might head to that new night club, but it wasn't confirmed by Hoseok."
