You were haphazardly cooking pasta while keeping an eye on the oven for the garlic bread you attempted to make when you heard a knock on your apartment door. You knew who it was without having to check and yelled out, "It's open!"
Footsteps and grocery bags rustling together are what you hear first before seeing Jungkook turn the corner into the kitchen. He shoots you a bright smile in place of a greeting while placing the bags on the counter top.
"I thought you were gonna order take out." He comments while peering over your shoulder.
The close proximity ignites a blush onto your cheeks, suddenly becoming very aware of the cologne Jungkook uses.
Clearing your throat, you say, "I figure I'd treat you to a meal I prepared myself." A proud smile tugs at your lips.
Jungkook bites back a smile before saying, "I don't know if that should be considered a treat since you've repeatedly said you're not a good cook." There's humor in his tone that makes your eyes narrow at him.
"I'll have you know that the one meal I can cook is pasta." You say with a huff.
It was a sun dried tomato pasta that required a handful of ingredients, something even you couldn't mess up. It was a recipe you learned how to make back when you did a study abroad program in Italy. Granted, you had taken a few liberties in altering the recipe, but the outcome was still the same.
"It smells good." Jungkook comments before adding, "But your garlic bread might be overdone."
Your eyes widen. Shit, I just checked on it. You panic before pulling them out of the oven.
The pieces weren't all burnt, some even edible in your opinion, but for the most part they were ruined. Jungkook's snickering pulls you back into the moment as you look down at the garlic bread with a pout.
"Move over, I can fix it." Jungkook says, nudging you with his shoulder before adding, "I just need a cheese grater."
You look at him doubtfully before retrieving what he's asked for. As he works on the burnt bread, you finish up the pasta. It felt almost natural to be next to Jungkook. The both of you had spared a few nights the past couple weeks to spend together. Most of the time, it'd be spent at Jungkook's place since he has a better surround sound system.
However, tonight the two of you opted to spend it at your place since you've been insisting he has to watch Avatar the Last Airbender series, something he hasn't watched yet. You find it criminal that he's only seen the movie.
Your relationship with Jungkook seems to border along a gray area. There were a few moments of shared innocent intimacy, moments that weren't necessarily risqué, but still sent shivers down your spine. At best, you both understood you were friends. But somehow it felt to be moving towards something more. There was a level of uncertainty within you that wondered if more was a good idea.
