"They're surrounding you!" Y/n squeals with excitement from behind Jungkook's chair.
Her focus was on the computer monitors in front of him, watching carefully as he did a live stream on Twitch. The two were in Jungkook's apartment, specifically in his gaming room, spending the night in each other's company. It was a Friday night, which gave y/n some freedom in not having to be asleep early, so she chose to spend the night over.
Y/n hadn't been on camera the entire time. In fact, she had sat off to the side at first, reading a book she had found on his shelf. Normally, Jungkook tries to finish his streaming before y/n comes over, but she had been curious about his setup and wanted to watch him stream. He figured she'd get bored after five minutes of him gaming, but here she was, enthusiastically being his wingman. He found it endearing that y/n found all of this entertaining. His previous girlfriend wasn't a fan of his decision to be a full-time streamer. She found it to be unpredictable and a waste of time. One of the many reasons why she's referred to as an ex.
On more than one occasion, y/n's reaction would cause Jungkook to bite back a smile. He considered whether he would tell her that his view count was well past 10,000 at this point, but he didn't want her to get shy. He enjoyed genuine reactions, and from the comments, so did everyone watching.
It had been a couple weeks since their first night sleeping together. Jungkook initially thought she would've just ignored it, but when they woke up to one another the next morning, ignorance was the last thing that crossed either of their minds as she pulled him in for a kiss. It was almost surreal to watch their relationship change. Shifting from disdain to friendship to the beginnings of a relationship that it almost warranted whiplash. It all happened so quickly, but neither of them really minded it. Aside from their opposite schedule, with y/n working in the daytime and Jungkook mostly awake during the night, things seemed to develop at a gradual and smooth pace. It surprised the hell out of Jungkook that things seemed to fall together in a natural rhythm.
"Ahh!" Y/n squeals out again as Jungkook's avatar takes a shot to its right side.
Jungkook was accustomed with the ins and outs of playing the team deathmatch that he could easily do this in his sleep. However, he was mildly distracted by an enthusiastic y/n that he can't help but laugh anytime he hears her. His teammates, on the other hand, aren't all that thrilled with his subpar performance, giving Jungkook an earful through the headset, but he assures them that the round will end quickly with a win.
Jungkook maneuvers his avatar to round up a duo that's been tailing him. He corners them by a few metal containers near the abandoned warehouse before taking them out quickly and quietly. He hears one of his team members shout a "fuck yeah" before focusing on the remaining members of the opposing team. Another couple minutes pass as Jungkook and taekingnames circle around the map in search of the last enemy. taekingnames cuts through the warehouse, coming up on the communication tower ahead and delivers headshots to their last opponent.
