Jin was livid

Jin was livid. In fact, he felt like he would combust from the amount of fiery anger that was coursing through him. He's not a particularly angry guy and prefers to walk away from confrontation in general, but this was something he couldn't just walk away from.

"You're crossing the line." Jin remarks firmly.

It shocks the hell out of him that he was able to speak so boldly, but he couldn't just let his parents continue inflicting more damage to y/n's life. His argument with y/n had shaken him to his core, awakening years of pent up anger that he hadn't dealt with. It was as if it was all coming out at this moment.

It was purely an impulsive decision that Jin wound up at his parent's place, confronting them about y/n's situation. He always thought of himself as being collected when it came to dealing with stressful situations. However, when he saw just how hurt you were, he couldn't contain the rage that boiled within him.

Mr. Kim stares back at Jin in outrage, his features set into hardened anger. "Don't you dare speak like that to us." He warns Jin.

Jin breathes out deeply, his face twisting into a hurt expression. He knows if he continues this argument, he'll most likely have a falling out with his parents, but if he doesn't have this talk with them, then he'll lose y/n. And right now, he wants to be on the side that's right.

"I tried talking about this with you and mom calmly, but you refused. The fact that I have to resort to this should be reason enough that you're crossing the line." Jin exclaims.

"Because this was never up for discussion." Mr. Kim counters stubbornly. "You're willing to throw your entire future away to live in a life of squalor!"

Jin flinches from his father's tone. It was harsh and pointed, sharp enough to slice Jin down to his knees, but Jin wasn't about to give up so easily–not without a fight.

"Just because y/n's family doesn't come from your friend circle doesn't mean she's desolate or meant to lead a life of poverty." Jin argues. "She's smart and kind and has a good grasp on her future. She doesn't use manipulative tactics to get her way, unlike the both of you." He adds on, his voice filled with dark anger.

"You think she'd care for you if you weren't rich?" Mrs. Kim scoffs. "Please, that girl is in it for the money."

Jin feels his blood spike with fury, hints of aching torment lingering. Either his mother thinks so little of y/n or she thinks that Jin can't find someone who genuinely and sincerely likes him. It was like a slap to his face, as if all he has to offer someone is his wealth, something that he hadn't even acquired himself.

"It's not like that." Jin counters evenly. "Y/n doesn't care about things like that."

Mrs. Kim scoffs again, her perfectly manicured features twisting into a scowl. "Don't be so naïve, Seokjin." She says dryly before adding, "I raised you better than that."
