The meeting with the new investors went accordingly, allowing Yoongi to feel assured at least until next month. He had a demanding schedule that kept his mind running at all hours of the day. He can't recall when he had a decent night of sleep which only feeds into his usual stand-offish demeanor. No one dares comment on it, but he's certain the other employees complain about him behind his back.

Yoongi understands that his personality is far from being personable. People not finding him approachable never bothered him since he was in a position that required him to remain objective. Forming personal ties only complicates things, especially in the workplace. It's not to say that Yoongi is incapable of forming platonic relationships, but he prefers these interactions to be unrelated to work.

Yoongi glances up from his computer screen and sees Y/n sitting at her desk, her usual polite smile pulled across her lips. Yoongi couldn't quite explain why he hired her. It's not like she blew him away during the interview process and her resume was far from being qualified for the demands of the job, but he went out on a limb and picked her from more qualified candidates.

He partially blames her pleasant disposition for hiring her, something that normally irked him, but coming from Y/n, it came off as genuine. Although Yoongi was a man who favored stoicism, he found y/n's optimism to be mildly uplifting. He remained indifferent with y/n for a number of reasons, one being that he didn't want to encourage larking in the workplace. The standard of quality he expects within the workplace was quite high, but he didn't mind the occasional optimism that y/n brought into the office. It seemed to make his days a little more tolerable when dealing with tedious projects.

Glancing up, Yoongi scans her desk for remnants of the bouquet from the other day, something that had been a pinprick of annoyance upon seeing it. He was sure that y/n was nice enough to garner attention like that, but it made Yoongi's blood boil. The memory forces his brows to pull together in annoyance before refocusing his attention back to his computer screen. He didn't want to put any more stock into the thought, being that the flowers were no longer there. The issue, for now, was no longer present and that's all that mattered to Yoongi.

A knock sounds off on his office door. "Mr. Min." Y/n greets in a soft tone as she enters the office.

Yoongi hums a tone of acknowledgement, his eyes remaining on his work.

"Is it okay if I could take some personal time off today?" She asks in a small voice, one that was both apologetic and tired.

This stops Yoongi from reading the report before him as his eyes slide up to look at y/n. He takes in the bright and vibrantness of her clothes that seem to be at a juxtaposition with her expression, which looks gloomy. Even to Yoongi, he could tell that this was not normal. He isn't one to pry, but he would rather her presence be near him especially after he had instructed y/n to set the work dinner for this evening, something that was wildly out of character for him.

A sheepish expression replaces her gloomy demeanor as she says, "I shouldn't be gone for more than a few hours and I can get one of the interns to look after your schedule in my absence."
