Hoseok felt a little nervous as he walked out onto the tennis court. The turnout was fairly feeding into his nerves since he knew y/n would be watching this match. By no means does Hoseok consider himself an amazing athlete, but he's confident enough to push aside any lingering doubt. He's put enough hours into training that he is certain it will, at most, be a close game.

His opponent for this match comes from a city college, one known for funding the athletic department in generous ways. It was a university that had scouted him back in high school, but Hoseok didn't feel like it'd be the right fit for him. In hindsight, he was glad he had declined their offer otherwise he'd never find the courage to have pursued a relationship with y/n. Hoseok bites back a smile as he readies himself on the court, carefully following the instructions of his coach.

Just before the match begins, he hears his sister cheering him on, y/n's voice following after it with enthusiasm. The encouragement boosts Hoseok's confidence as he silently vows to give the crowd, particularly y/n, a match worth watching. He shakes out any trace of nerves from his limbs before taking a moment to regain his thoughts.

His thoughts hone in on y/n and Ava's cheers, making him breathe out a laugh. It fills Hoseok's chest with warmth as he thinks of the past couple weeks. He wasn't proud to be sneaking around with y/n, but neither of them had clarified when they would tell Ava. Y/n had voiced her concerns about the ordeal, saying that she wasn't entirely sure how Ava would take it. Hoseok didn't feel the need to immediately involve Ava just yet, but he knew if he and y/n continued to date, he'd tell Ava in due time.

As his match comes to a close with Hoseok taking the final point in the last set. His eyes meet y/n's in the crowd, a flush overtaking his cheeks as he focuses on steadying his breathing. Hoseok's muscles felt worn and his heart thundered loudly in his ears. Adrenaline was still coursing through his veins as he shoots y/n a sly wink just as Ava momentarily looks away, pulling out her phone to take a picture of him. Even from where he stood, he could see y/n's cheek flush bright red.

After shaking hands with his opponent and briefly meeting with his coach, Hoseok darts to the side where Ava and y/n excitedly waits for him. Ava was first to pull him in for a hug while y/n stood off to the side. The deal was to act as normal as possible as he and y/n explore their relationship, defining things on their own time without any outside pressure. Sadly, it meant that he couldn't kiss or hug y/n as freely as he would like, but it's a compromise they agreed to.

"Great game." Y/n says cordially, her eyes flashing with sincerity as a subtle blush blooms on her cheeks.

Hoseok's smile widens. "Thanks, I'm starving." He says before adding, "Let's grab something to eat after I change."

Ava and y/n nod their heads in agreement before Hoseok darts into the locker rooms, opting to freshen up as quickly as possible so he can spend some time with y/n. Their discretion, thankfully, has gone unnoticed so far. Well, aside from Hyungwon poking fun at Hoseok, it's gone unnoticed. Hyungwon thoroughly teased Hoseok in privacy, but it was all in good humor. After their first date, Hoseok was certain that what he felt for y/n was more than a mere crush or infatuation. He knew on a baser level that he loved y/n. The thought should instill some form of hesitancy in him, but he welcomes the ordeal with open arms. Since that night, Hoseok and y/n had spared a few late nights together in the library under the guise of studying.
