Ganito kasi yan, after Valentine's Day, Ella invited me for dinner at their house. Sinabi niya sa akin ang plan niya in advance.
When we finished our dessert, naglakas loob na si Ella. Tumayo ito at pumunta sa likod ko.
Agad na napatingin sa kanya si Tita Pipin.
"Mom, I want you to know that Jema and I are now dating." she said.
Straightforward na sinabi ito ni Ella habang nakaakbay sa akin. Her siblings are both listening to her.
Tita was quiet for a bit kaya kinabahan ako ng todo. I don't know kung maganda ang magiging reaction niya, then she suddenly smiled to both of us.
"Oh, I thought I will wait that long before you two admit it." she said as she tried to suppress a laugh.
"Wait, you knew all along?" Ella asked.
"Of course! I'm your Mom. I notice everything dear. So totoo pala talaga ang kutob ko. A mother's instinct is always right." sagot nito habang magiliw na nakatingin sa amin.
"Ay no suspense na pala sis. Malakas ang radar ni Mudra." sabi ni ma'am Joyce.
Nagtawanan silang lahat kaya medyo nakahinga ako ng maluwag. Hinawakan ko ang kamay ni Ella na nakapatong sa balikat ko at pinisil ito.
"Hey Jemalyn, bakit natahimik ka na dyan?" tanong ni ma'am Joyce.
"Oo nga Jema. Don't be scared of me. You are welcome here, with the De Jesus family." Tita Pipin replied as she offered me a genuine smile.
"T-thank you po Tita, for welcoming me." sagot ko habang nakatingin ako ng diretso sa kanya.
Sabi nila, you have to look them in the eye when you are talking to someone to show your sincerity. Tumango naman si Tita sa akin, acknowledging my answer.
"Thanks Mom. You're the best talaga." sabi ni Ella.
"Well, I only want what's best for you Ella. If you feel that Jema is the one, who am I to disagree? Just be yourselves. As long as you're both happy, we will be here to support you." she replied.
"Awww, thank you so much Mom." Ella said as she went near her and hugged Tita Pipin.
Nagkayakapan ang mag ina habang tahimik kami nila ma'am Joyce at Renzo sa gilid.
Ang sweet naman nilang mag ina.
"Don't thank me, ako dapat ang magpasalamat sa iyo. For being honest with me and to our family. Sa lahat ng ayaw ko yung may mga itinatago, alam mo yan." sabi niya.
"Yes Mom, I love you and I won't forget that." Ella replied.
"I love you too anak." Tita Pipin said.
"Love, come here and join us." sabi ni Ella.
"Oo nga iha." yaya ni Tita.
So ayun, nagyakapan na kaming tatlo.
