Chapter 2~ Has the gay suddenly left your body?
Max and Arwen hesitantly decided to get ready for the pool- if it were up to them, they would've stayed in bed all day but unfortunately the boys would have come and dragged them outside either way- wearing their bathing suits under their clothes, they headed outside with their worn out skateboards.
Arwen placed down her skateboard and started to get on it, "hey- you might want to be careful on this road there's a lot of rocks and potholes." Max warned.
"Oh you must hold my hands then Max." Arwen said half sarcastically before putting her arms out for Max who she quickly took hold of them. They both laughed as Max led Arwen across the road until she soon lost her balance and tripped off the board toward Max, both of their eyes widened as they were now inches apart, the feeling of each others breathe on their faces, Arwen could have sworn she saw Max's face move closer but she pulled away before she could find out, leaving Max standing there awkwardly. Arwen cleared her throat and pressed her foot down on the bottom half of her board to pick it up before turning around to Max who was stood frozen in the same spot but with a slightly annoyed look on her face, "um- Max, we should probably get going." Arwen kicked the dirt around under her shoe.
"Huh?" Max snapped back into reality and looked up at the girl, "oh- yeah let's go." They both ditched their skateboards on the grass and traded them for the bikes instead, keeping their eyes strictly on their handlebars the whole way there.
They arrived at the pool shortly after the boys, who had already set up base at the best spot, the girls parked their bikes and started walking to the gates but Max stopped her before they walked in, "are you sure you're up for this today?" She placed her hand on Arwen's arm who quickly shrugged it off causing Max to take a step back, "yes, I promise I'm okay Max plus- I need the distraction." Max just nodded her head, not wanting to push her into telling her about it.
"Hey guys!" The group ran over to the girls and greeted them but Will practically tackled Arwen into a hug like usual, "ew Will! You're wet go away." Arwen tried to pull away but he shook his hair out on her instead, "seriously I will shave that bowl cut right off." She said making the group laugh, "oh Arwy I await the day you finally admit your undying love for me!" Will leaned back with his hand to his head fake swooning to which Arwen rolled her eyes, "if only you didn't side for the other team willy the wise."
"You two have this conversation everyday now let's swim." Dustin persisted. Everyone except for Will jumped back into the pool with Max this time but Arwen decided to stay back and sun bathe for a bit.
"So you and Max were late...what were you up to?" Will smirked, slouching down on the chair next to Arwen who looked over at him with narrowed eyes, "what do you mean? We were just skating."
"Don't worry- I get it 'skating'" he finger quoted and did a weird wink, she knew Will was just messing around like he always did but she somehow grew paranoid that he actually knew about this morning- not that there is anything to know. It was nothing- "Is there something wrong with your eye Will?" Arwen joked, referring to his weird winking if you could even call it that, he was sort of just twitching it. "Is there something wrong with yours? Max is hot you need to reassess your life immediately."
"Has the gay suddenly left your body Will?" Arwen laughed, "god I hope not girls are too much for me." He said as Arwens attention went back onto the red head who was now getting out of the pool, Arwen quickly stood up with a towel to wrap around Max and led her to the sun lounge she was sat on.
"Thanks." Max smiled and laid her head on Arwen's shoulder, "hey Arwen, you should really put some sunscreen on your back I can see it's burning." Will said from behind them, Arwen turned around and glared at him knowing exactly what he was doing, "oh I can do it for you, if you want?" Max offered to which Arwen hesitantly nodded her head, Max leaned over to grab the sunscreen and sat behind Arwen beginning to rub it on her back, she went over her shoulders and upper back then further down to her waist where Arwen felt Max sort of hover over before making contact, her hands were definitely there longer than they were on her shoulders, "um okay done." She said awkwardly moving away slightly.
