Chapter 36~ Dear Billy.
(Slight mentions of harmful thoughts)

Max stared at the wall not responding to anyone, "Max!" Dustin kept repeating until she finally snapped out of it, she looked around with a disoriented look on her face, "the clock." She whispered, "what? What clock?!" Steve asked as Max stood up and ran to the hallway, Steve, Dustin and Arwen followed her out and bumped into Nancy and Robin who had just gotten to the school, "what's going on?" Nancy looked to them for answers but they didn't know either, "it was just here." Max stared at the empty wall receiving confused looks from everyone, "it was- it was a grandfather clock."

"A grandfather clock?" Nancy questioned, Arwen suddenly remembered all of the times Max shouted at her to turn her clock off even after she took the batteries out, "it was so real." She let out, Arwen didn't know wether to comfort her or not, "and then, when I got closer, suddenly I just...I woke up."

"You were in a trance." Arwen let out quietly, "exactly what Eddie said happened to Chrissy." Dustin replied causing Max to turn around with tears in her eyes that were threatening to spill, "that's not even the bad part." She admitted, worrying the group even more.

She led them back to the office to show them the files, "Fred and Chrissy, they both came to Ms. Kelley for help- uh, they both were having headaches, bad headaches that just wouldn't go away and then- then the nightmares. Trouble sleeping, they'd wake up in a cold sweat and then they started seeing things. Bad things...from their past and these visions, they just- they kept on getting worse and worse until eventually. Everything ended."

"Vecna's curse." Robin stated, "Chrissy's headaches started a week ago. Fred's, six days ago...I've been having them on and off for months but these past five days, it's so much worse." She admitted, Arwen quickly wiped a tear off her cheek not wanting anyone to see, "I don't know how long I have. All I know is that, for Fred and Chrissy, they both died less than twenty four hours after their first vision and I just saw that goddamn clock so...looks like I'm gonna die tomorrow." She said to the group but looked directly at Arwen who kept her head down.

The sound of a door made the group shoot their heads up in unison, "stay here." Steve instructed them, he went to walk out but grabbed a lamp first, "we're not staying here, he grabbed a lamp for gods sake." Dustin whispered as they stood behind him.

The sound of someone running got closer and louder, Steve raised the lamp as everyone screamed, "ahhhhh! It's me!" Lucas screamed and put his arms up, "Lucas?"
"It's me." He said out of breath, "Jesus, what's wrong with you Sinclair?" Steve shouted, "I'm sorry."

"I could've taken you out with this lamp!"
"Sorry, guys. Sorry. I was...I was biking for eight miles. Give me a second. Shit. We've got a code red."

"What?" Steve questioned, Lucas panted and walked closer to the group, "Dustin. I've been with Jason, Patrick and Andy, and they've gone like totally off the rails, they're trying to capture Eddie, and they think you know where he is. You're in terrible danger!" He panicked, "alright. Yeah, that definitely sucks but we've got bigger problems than Jason now." Dustin moved to reveal Max but Lucas was looking at Arwen behind her, "what happened. Arwen, why are you crying?" He asked, blowing her cover, they all turned round, including Max, "I'm not."

The next morning the group woke up at the Wheeler's house, Arwen stayed up all night thinking about Max. "I think this is a great idea, so we'll go and the rest of them can stay here." Nancy said to Robin whilst the girls, minus Max were sat on her bed, "Arwen." Robin waved her hand in front of the girls face, "what?"
"You didn't sleep last night." Nancy stated, "yeah- I couldn't sleep...what am I supposed to do about Max- I need to do something-" she chocked up, "hey-" the girls moved closer to her side, "we've got this okay? Stay with Max today, we have a plan that will hopefully make this whole thing go away." Nancy tried to reassure her, "let's go tell the others." They all got up and ran down to the basement, "okay, so...we have a plan."
