Chapter 52~ Her final breath.

Max and El walked slowly through the decorations and saw Vecna making his way out of the broken bleachers, "Max?" Arwen whispered and winced in pain, Max quickly turned back and ran to her girlfriend, "hey, hey, I'm okay, he didn't get me." She reassured Arwen making her cry, "I thought he-" her voice cracked not being able to finish her sentence, "I had some help." Max smiled and moved aside to reveal El, "El." Arwen let out a cry of relief, "hey Wen." El smiled through tears.

All of a sudden Vecna was in the middle of the gym again, coming closer towards the girls, "stay back." El instructed before standing in front of him, "if you touch them again. I will kill you. Again."

"Is that what you did?" He questioned, "did you kill me? I am so glad you are here, Eleven. This...is going to be beautiful. So beautiful." He spread his arms out and started lifting off the ground along with pieces of broken wood that had been on the floor, "and it's all thanks to you." He suddenly threw them all at El, who quickly used her powers to avoid them before he threw her back into the wall and dragged her across tables.

Arwen and Max watched in panic as El was visibly struggling against him. Without thought, Arwen ran towards him and threw out her hand making him fall back. Vecna slowly got up after gaining more anger from the girl. Now lifting her up, he flung her across the room causing her to pass out once again, "Arwen!" Max screamed.

She watched between Vecna and her girlfriend before grabbing a piece off wood from the floor, she came hurtling towards him, only to be thrown backwards like Arwen, hitting her head on the floor, becoming unconscious.

Arwen's eyes flickered open as she started to gain consciousness back, she let out a whimper as she felt herself restrained. Looking to the side, her eyes grasped onto Max who was just gaining consciousness back too, "I want you to watch." Max and Arwen both heard him say to El as he started walking over to them.

Arwen kept her eyes on Max, taking in all of her, her red hair, the freckles painted across her nose, the parts of green amongst her blue eyes, every little detail of the girl she loved more than life.

"Don't be afraid." Vecna placed his hand against Max's cheek as tears escaped onto them, "try and stay very still. It will all be over soon." He turned, "I love you Max." Arwen cried. He raised his hand up above her head before sinking it into her skin causing her eyes to roll back.

Lucas watched as her arm snapped. Then left her leg. Her right leg. Her eyes began spilling blood.

"Arwen!" Max hysterically sobbed as they both hit the ground, back in the attic. Arwen's body was limp as Max struggled over to her, pulling the girl onto her lap as Luca's watched in shock.

Steve, Nancy and Robin ran back to where Eddie's trailer was and watched as the demobats fell to the ground. Steve looked around in search of Dustin and Eddie until he laid his eyes upon Eddie who had visible wounds on his side, "Steve." Eddie let out through a shaky voice, Steve wasted no time in rushing over to him worriedly, "I didn't run away this time Harrington." He whispered making Steve sigh in relief, "don't be a hero." Steve grabbed Eddie's shirt and pulled him into a kiss.

"Lucas!" Erica ran into the attic, staring wide eyed at them, "we need a doctor! Call an ambulance! Hurry! Call an ambulance!" Lucas shouted.

"Max..." Arwen breathed out, "I'm here- I'm here." Max cried, "I can't...I can't feel or...s-see anything." She choked up, "Arwen." Max's breath hitched, "we're gonna get you some help, okay? You can't give up on me, you're so strong Arwen. You're so strong." Max cried more.

"Max, I'm scared. I'm so scared. I'm so scared." She whispered, "I know, I know. Please hold on okay, I'm right here, I've got you. Please Arwen." Max kept repeating through tears, "I don't wanna die." Arwen's voice cracked, "I can't leave you, I can't- I can't go please, I'm scared." Her breath got heavier before completely slowing down, "you made even the worst things bearable Max." She let out before Max felt her body collapse, "Arwen? Arwen. No, no, you have to wake up Arwen! Arwen!" She screamed, "Lucas!" Max sobbed uncontrollably, "I don't- I don't know what to do." He cried back, "Arwen, Arwen. Hang on." Max panicked more and more, "Erica, help!" Lucas shouted down to her.

Arwen let out a final breath before her eyes shut, "Arwen. Arwen?! Arwen?!? Stay with me. Arwen, stay with me. No! No! No! Arwen! Arwen! Please, stay with me!" Her voice started breaking, "help!" She let out a loud sob and fell into her chest.
