17. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑹𝒂𝒕𝒔

Chapter 17~ The Mall Rats.

𝙅𝙪𝙡𝙮 𝟏𝙨𝙩

Max and Arwen were outside skating like usual when Max tried to do an ollie on her skateboard but tripped over on the road instead, "shit Max!" Arwen ran over to her then heard her board stop, she looked up and saw El stood there with it is her hands, "El?"

"Hi." She walked over and placed the skateboard on the sidewalk, "your knee is bleeding."

"It's fine, I'm used to it." She stood up with Arwen holding her arm, leading her inside, "where have you been El, are you okay?" Max sat at the table whilst Arwen grabbed the first aid kit from the kitchen, pulling out an anti septic wipe and bandaid.

"Is it about what Mike said the other day?" Arwen asked, "what he said to you was bad- and it made me think that maybe that's what he thinks about me too when I 'lose control', and now he won't speak to me at all, he told me his nana was sick." She explained, "what?! That's total bull, Nancy would've told me." Arwen scoffed, "he's a piece of shit! Mike doesn't have jack shit to do today and his Nana obviously isn't sick, I guarantee you him and Lucas are playing Atari right now."

"But- friends don't lie." 

"Yeah well boyfriends lie. All. The. Time." Max stated, "girlfriends don't." Arwen whispered earning a smirk from Max, "you're going to stop calling him, you're going to ignore his calls, as far as you're concerned, he doesn't exist."

"Doesn't exist?" El repeated, "he treated you like garbage, you're gonna treat him like garbage, give him a taste of his own medicine." Arwen explained, "give him the medicine."

"Mhm and if he doesn't fix this? If he doesn't explain himself? Dump his ass." Els wide eyes followed Max and Arwens, "come on." Max stood up putting her hands out for El and Arwen, "we're going to have some fun, there's more to life than stupid boys you know?"

"This is why I don't do boys." Arwen muttered.

They arrived at the busy mall on the bus with wide smiles on their faces and ran hand in hand into starcourt, they hadn't actually shopped in the mall yet, they had only been to scoops and the movies so they were extra excited to look around at all the new shops and clothes, "so what do you wanna do first?" Max asked but El didn't reply, "you've never been shopping before have you?" El nodded her head, "well then I guess we'll just have to try everything, come on!"

Max started running towards the GAP with Arwen and El following behind, El instantly rushed to all the bright clothes with wide eyes, amazed at everything. "Max are you feeling gay and proud right now?" Arwen giggled, "what?" Max looked confused, "we're in the GAP, the gay and proud." She smirked, "what?! That's what it stands for? I had no idea!"

"No it doesn't actually but it would be funny if it did." Arwen laughed and Max almost shoved her into a mannequin, "you're so annoying!" Max replied. El was stood by the mirror trying on some hats, the girls walked over and helped her put them on properly, "you like it?"

"How do I know- what I like?" she asked, "you just, try things on until you find something that feels like you." Max said, "like me?" She questioned, "yeah! Not Hopper, not Mike, you." El smiled up at one of the mannequins outfits.

𓆝 𓆟 𓆞 𓆝 𓆟𓆝 𓆟 𓆞

El, Max and Arwen walked out the mall laughing and bags full of clothes when they stopped in their tracks and saw none other than Mike, Will and Lucas getting their bikes from the rack, "isn't this a nice surprise?" Max started walking over to them, Mikes face dropped along with his Bike whilst Will and Arwen just waved and blew kisses at each other, "thought your grandma was sick?"

"Uh she- she is- she is sick." He looked at Lucas for backup who annoyingly went along with it, "she is sick, super sick. That's why we're here actually."

"Yeah, yeah we're shopping- not for us but for her- for nana."

"For nana!" Lucas repeated, El looked between them clearly not buying it, "you lie. Why do you lie?" She looked back at the bus that had just arrived then back at Mike, taking a step closer, "I dump your ass!" Max and Arwen's mouths suddenly fell open not thinking she would actually do it.

"Bye Will!" Arwen made a heart shape with her hands which he returned, "Oh and Lucas? Why don't you find someone else's ass to kiss, Mikes is already preoccupied with his own head up it." She smiled and ran to the bus with the girls.
