38. 𝑨𝒓𝒘𝒆𝒏'𝒔 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕.

Chapter 38~ Arwen's secret.

Suddenly the lights in the hallway started flickering grabbing Dustin and Arwen's attention, "what is happening?" She looked at him with widened eyes, "you can't block me out Arwen."
"What?!"

"What? What's wrong?" Dustin asked, worriedly.
"N-nothing." She lied but he wasn't buying it, "you can't keep hiding things Arwen." He said but it sounded different to his normal voice, "that was you saying that right?"
He looked at her with confusion, "yeah...who else would it be?"
"I think he's here..." Arwen whispered.

"Guys!" Max called from downstairs startling the two, "I think we're about to find out." Dustin said, leading the way as everyone trailed behind, the lights were flickering one at a time downstairs, like a pattern.

"It's like the Christmas lights." Nancy whispered as they all stood in front of the lit up chandelier, "Vecna's here. In this house...just on the other side." Luca's let out as the lights went off, "I think he just left the room." Robin stated, "did he hear us?" Max asked, "It's Steve's loud breathing to blame." Arwen replied, "shut up. Can he see us?"
"Headphones." Lucas said to Max, Dustin nudged Arwen to put hers on but she didn't want to when everyone was there, "everyone, turn off your flashlights and spread out." Nancy instructed, they all went to corners of the room except Steve, "we're not gonna be able to see if we turn off our flash...lights." Steve stated but realised why they were doing it, "Jesus Christ."

"Put them on now." Dustin walked with Arwen who finally put them on and turned her music up.

"I got him!" Robin shouted from another room, "got him!" She repeated, "I got him." She held up her flashlight but it went out, "I...I had him."
"Oh, whoa." Steve's suddenly lit up, "oh, I think he's moving. He's moving. He's moving." He followed the light with everyone behind him, they ran up the stairs and it went out, "shit. I lost him."

"No you didn't." Max opened the attic door to reveal light leading up the stairs, they hesitantly headed up the stairs quietly, "hold up guys, what if he's leading us into a trap?" Dustin called from the bottom, "guys, guys! Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit." He whispered under his breathe.

The group walked towards the middle of the room where a light kept flickering and all of their flashlights were now lighting up, "okay what's happening?" Steve asked, all of a sudden the lightbulbs smashed causing them to shield each other from the glass followed all of their individual flashlights breaking one by one, "holy shit!" Dustin shouted, "I think he's gone..." Nancy said once it had gone silent, "I have two back up flashlights." Dustin grabbed his bag and took them out, turning them on.

"Shit." Arwen suddenly winced, pushing the sides of her temples, the group immediately turned around to see her crouched over in pain, "Arwen?"

"Arwen what's wrong?" Nancy asked as they all grew more concerned, her face immediately went pale along with her heart beat increasing rapidly, she tried to stay up right but the feeling in her chest was making it hard for her to keep her eyes open until she no longer could, falling to the ground the group watched with widened eyes before running over to her, "oh my god!"
"What happened?!"

"Arwen!!" They all panicked at once but Dustin stayed silent which Max caught onto, "what's wrong with her?!" She asked, "Dustin? Dustin!"
"Wait you know what's wrong with her?" Steve questioned.

"She's cursed too..." He slowly let out, instantly regretting it due to the looks on their faces, "she's what?!" Steve and Robin said in unison, "how- what how do- why didn't she tell us or you how did you even know?!" Nancy asked all at once, "it doesn't matter right now! What matters is getting her out of this house." He replied, they all nodded as Steve picked her unconscious body up, immediately getting flashbacks to last summer when they thought she was gone forever and he could tell the others felt it too.

They rushed to the car and placed Arwen in the back seats over Max and Robin's laps, "Arwen only told me like five minutes before she fainted okay? I saw her having a nosebleed and just thought she was using her powers, I promise I was going to tell you all." Dustin explained, "why didn't she tell us?" Nancy asked, "because of me-" Max quickly replied, "it just doesn't make sense- I mean why would she faint, you never did right?" Nancy asked to Max who shook her head, "no I didn't and I can't even tell how many days she's had this for, it would be obvious if she was having visions right?" Max looked to everyone who shrugged, "she obviously been able to hide it this long." Lucas added, "did anyone notice anything different about her?" Robin questioned, "oh my god." Nancy let out, "what?" They all responded in unison, "this morning she woke up from a nightmare I mean, I didn't think anything of it because she was crying about you Max so I just thought it was about what happened with..." she paused awkwardly, "everything."
