Chapter 43~ Nancy's worst nightmare.

"Where are we going exactly?" Arwen asked as Dustin led them into Nancy's room, "we're escaping." He pointed to the window causing Max and Arwen to sigh, "great." Arwen said sarcastically, "come on." Lucas rushed them out of the window one by one, once they were all out they ran down to where the bike's were scattered and ran beside them, "go, go go." Dustin said, "hurry up Lucas." Arwen pushed him with her bike, "let's go!"

"Hey!" They heard Officer Callahan shout from Nancy's window, they looked up and saw him practically leaning out causing them to go faster, "get over here!"

"Shit." Max whispered, Arwen turned to the window and flipped him off, "Hey! I'm writing you up for that!" He yelled, "pretty sure you're gonna have to catch us first!"
"Arwen! Go. Go!" Dustin rushed Max and Arwen who were in front of him, "guys hurry up!"

They ran ahead as Erica crouched down by the back wheel of the cop car with a screwdriver, "I guess it's just a minor misdemeanour." She said before puncturing it, "hey! No!" Callahan shouted, "no!" Suddenly all the parents started running out of the house promoting the teens to finally get on their bikes, "Lucas!" The Sinclair's shouted, "Dusty!"
"Lucas, Erica! Get back here!" They repeated.

"Holy shit! Suddenly I'm glad my moms not here." Arwen said as they rode their bikes along the empty road, "god, me too." Max added, "we are in so much fucking shit!" Dustin yelled, "stop wining." Erica scoffed.

"Okay now that we're out of there can someone fill Arwen and I in on the plan?" Max asked, "okay short version, there's a gate in Eddie's trailer meaning we can get the others out if they climb through it from the upside down, now we're not exactly one hundred percent sure wether it will work but we have to at least try." Dustin explained as they rode into the trailer park, "right. Got it." Max replied sceptically.

Once the younger teens got into the trailer they saw the spot where Chrissy had died and Dustin's theory was right, there was a portal in the exact spot he thought it would be, "I knew it!" He ran over and looked up, "how do you propose we go about this?" Lucas asked, "what are you doing?" Max turned to Arwen who was grabbing a broom stick from the closet, "prodding it?" She replied as the group looked amongst each other.

She jabbed the end of the broom in and a piece of weird sludge came falling down right next to Dustin who moved out of the way in time, "watch it."
"No." She laughed and kept poking through the layer of gooey red shit, "wait it's working." Erica observed, "okay I'm through." They all walked underneath the portal to see the older teens, Dustin started laughing along with everyone else, "hi there." He grinned, "hi." They replied in unison, clearly confused at how it worked, "bada bada boom!" Dustin shouted.

"Okay how are we gonna get them from there to here?" Lucas asked Arwen who shrugged, "what? Do I have to think of everything?"
"I have an idea." Max ran to Eddie's bedroom and they followed her, "here." She handed them all sheets, "we tie them together to make a rope, Dustin and Arwen, grab the mattress and put it under the portal." Max instructed, "okay." They grabbed it and ran back into the living room where Max, Lucas and Erica shortly joined them with the sheets.

"Not quite sure how these physics are gonna work but uh...here goes nothing." Dustin threw the tied up sheets up to the portal, "there we go." He tugged on it to make sure it was secure, "and if my theory is correct." He let go and it stayed in place, "abracadabra."
"Holy shit." Max said in disbelief, "alright, pull on it! See if it holds!" He yelled through, "this is the craziest shit I've ever seen in my life and I've seen some crazy shit." Erica remarked.

"All right let's clear a landing path." They all stepped back to make way for Robin who was coming through first.

"Arwen, I was thinking that- what if you tried to get into Vecna's dreams?" Lucas turned to her making everyone stare at him, "you wanna discuss this now Lucas, really?" Dustin said as Robin fell through and landed on the mattress, "why do you suggest this every year at the worst time, you did it last year with Billy." Arwen replied, "little help here." Robin held out her hands, they quickly grabbed her but Lucas carried on, "no just hear me out, he curses people by taking over their minds but what if you could have the upper hand by doing it to him first." He explained further, "no. No way that's too dangerous." Max protested, "what is happening?" Robin interjected as Arwen stood there visibly thinking, "Arwen you can't seriously be considering this?" Max turned to her girlfriend, "I don't know Max- it could help..."

"Arwen. Dreams are subconscious and who's to say he'll even be dreaming about anything? Dustin? Back me up on this." Max turned to him for help, "I never actually thought about it but it does sound like it could potentially make sense."

"Does he even sleep?" Erica questioned, "doesn't he sleep when he's cursing people?" Robin added, "I don't know but Vecna haunts people at first with nightmares. There must be something I can work with?" Arwen explained.

"I don't agree with you doing this Arwen." Max argued, "why now?" She glared at Lucas, "so many things could go wrong here."
"I agree with Max on this." Robin announced, "I'm sorry but I'm going to try." Arwen concluded.

Whilst Eddie climbed through, the other teens explained what they were trying and after much protesting from Steve and Nancy, Arwen was sat crossed legged on the floor with a blindfold on, "I can't believe you suggested this." Max hisses at Lucas, "it was just an idea."
"Yeah and obviously she was going to do it, she would try anything if it meant saving the people she loves. If something happens to her I swear to god."

"Arwen."

Arwen was suddenly hurtling into a black void until she hit the ground causing her to let out groan, she tried to move onto her front but struggled due to being winded from the fall.
She slowly got back onto her feet and looked around. She was in the lab, it was filled with black vines, particles in the air and red mist, "I've been waiting for you...but why were you trying to use your powers on me?"

Her eyes caught attention of something in the corner, she cautiously took a few steps closer as tears spilled out her eyes and saw it was her dad, covered in vines and blood, she let out a loud gasp and turned back. "Do you remember what you did, Arwen?"

"Arwen! Arwen." The group panicked as Arwen's eyes were rolled to the back of her head, "Nancy!" They heard Steve shout on the other side, Dustin ran over and looked through the portal seeing Nancy was in the same situation, "holy shit! Nancy's eyes look the same!" He yelled, "Vecna." Lucas let out, "Arwen come on!" Max rapidly shook her shoulders.

"Or have you already forgotten?" His voice sounded out around Arwen as she had flashbacks to that night.

Arwen's head turned towards her dad and Bob, the demodogs had caught up to them as Arwen found herself suddenly not being able to breathe, her body was shutting down. Her dad was now surrounded in a pool of blood, his lifeless body and she couldn't do anything to stop it, "you could have stopped it."
"No!" Arwen screamed.

"When I kill someone...I never forget." Suddenly blood started pouring through the doors of the lab, filling up fast. Arwen's eyes widened at the sight as she panicked on what to do, there was no way out until her eyes quickly went onto a window that she ran over to and climbed out of, just to end up in a familiar place. She scanned around as the mist engulfed the sky and thunder struck every second. The sound of a clock ticking quickly caught her attention, she looked down and realised she was now at the top of a staircase.

Slowly walking down it the clock struck again, "I've missed you Arwen." The voice spoke again, "I haven't told you how useful you are to me yet but I've been busy." She kept walking until she saw Freddy, Chrissy and Patrick up on some sort of display, the way Max described it, "so very busy. You Arwen, are special. You think it was accidental? The way you got your powers, I chose you for this, after Eleven betrayed me. I chose you. I saw your potential." Arwen's breath started to get heavier as she saw the stained glass window, "walk through it Arwen." She shakily turned the handle and walked in, "oh my god."

"Arwen!" Nancy cried and grabbed her, "oh my god Nancy." Arwen sobbed, "watch what I have to show you both, very carefully." Vecna explained as the girls looked at each other with tears falling down their cheeks.

Suddenly a little girl ran through the door of the house and went upstairs, "Alice, no running."
Vecna showed them what happened, their eyes immediately went onto a boy in the corner, he was quiet.
