18. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒅.

Chapter 18~ The case of the missing lifeguard.

𝙅𝙪𝙡𝙮 𝟏𝙨𝙩

The girls got back to El's cabin and sat on her bed whilst Max was dancing around to Madonna with a hairbrush in her hand, Arwen couldn't keep the smile off her face when she remembered that Max was finally her girlfriend, she was perfect, "you must be an angel, I can see it in your eyes." Max sung and looked at Arwen causing her to blush. "Oo you found Ralph Macchio." Max stopped to look at the magazine El had just opened, "Macchio?" El repeated.

"Yeah! He's the karate kid. Hiya!" Max motioned her doing a karate chop which made Arwen immediately burst out laughing, "do you think he's hot?" El asked Max, she glanced at Arwen who was obviously smirking, "um actually El...I don't really find boys hot-" Max admitted causing El to tilt her head in confusion, "w-why not?"

"I kinda prefer girls."

"Girls? Oh. Do I like girls?" She asked innocently, Max let out a small giggle, "well I don't know El, that's up to you?"

"I like girls too El." Arwen chimed in, "you- both like girls? So do you go out with- each other?" Arwen looked at Max, they were still keeping it a secret from the party but El wasn't annoying like them and they trusted her, "yeah El, we are." Arwen smiled and so did El, "I'm happy for you."

"What do you think Mikes doing right now?" Max changed the subject, "I bet he's totally wallowing in self pity in his room going 'oh I hope she takes me back!" They all burst out laughing, "god what I would give to see his stupid face!" El looked to the side and Arwen instantly knew what she was thinking, "what is it?" Max raised her eyebrows.

The radio sounded white noise around the room and El was sat directly under it with a blind fold on, "is this really gonna work?" El nodded her head, "holy shit this is insane!"

"Max!"

"Yeah quiet sorry." Arwen giggled and planted a kiss on her head.

"I see them." El said, Max and Arwen quickly sat on the floor next to her, "what are they doing?" Max asked, "eating."

"They say we are species." El said calmly, not understanding what they meant, "what?" Max and Arwen said in unison, "emotion, not logic."

"What?!" El suddenly pulled her blindfold off and looked at them in shock, "what? What happened?!" She burst out laughing and fell to the floor.

"Holy shit! I can't believe we're really doing this." Max wrote on the last piece of paper to put on the red board which had different names on, El spun the bottle and it landed on Mr. Wheeler, "ugh boring, spin again."

"Hey now I wouldn't be opposed to the idea." Arwen grinned, "shut up!" Max laughed, El spun the bottle again and this time it landed on Billy, "okay look, I should just warn you-" Max got off the bed and turned the radio onto a white noise channel, "if he's with a girl or doing something gross just get outta there right away before you're scarred for life."

"Max."

"No, I'm just saying I'm serious, he's really gross." Arwen shoved her Max's side signalling for her to be quiet, "Max!"

"Shutting up now." El tied the blindfold up as white noise filled the room again, "I found him."

"What's he doing?" Max asked, "I don't know." El whispered sounding slightly worried, "he's- on the floor? Talking to someone." El suddenly pulled the blindfold off and gasped for air, "El what is it?!" Arwen placed her hand on El's shoulder as tears escaped her eyes.
