After the fire cleared, I scooped the ashes into the cup. It's full now. I'll worry about new clothing later. It's time to go back. I carefully put the cup of ashes into my bag. I carried the bag in my hand this time so that the cup won't tip over.

When I made it back with the cup safely, I put it on my desk for now.

"Good god, my bag smells like burnt road kill." I said.

To improvise, I went to the bathroom and sprayed it with deodorant.

"Much better."

I took the bag and put it in my closet for now. I once again noticed the slippers. They look fluffy. I took them out and put them on and they did not disappoint. I have basically everything now for the ritual, but should I do it now? I could do it in the empty room in the attic, but once again, this is super risky.

Here are the 3 horsemen of what can happen:

1. It's useless and a waste of time.

2. It's very hostile and destroys / kills everything.

Or

3. It's harmless and... we'll see what's next.

I kinda doubt the first thing since it seems familiar to me from the description. I hope for the third thing... I should bring a knife or something for this. I'm a sword fighter, after all! That, of course, lowers the risk a bit.

Let's just go for it. I'm immortal, after all! What could go wrong?

I put all that's required into a dusty shoe box that was in my closet and carefully made my way upstairs, holding it with one hand. Once I made it into the empty room, I took everything out of the box and hid the box behind other boxes. I then spred the ashes into the symbol. I managed to make it 60 centimeters wide, which surprised me. I put down the single flower I brought with me in the middle and then the candles which I lit.

Now for the last ingredient, blood. I took the small kitchen knife and poked a small hole into the palm of my hand with my mouth and hissed.

"Wait, what the fuck?" I dropped the knife.

"Why is my blood so dark?" I took a closer look.

It's black. This better be this whole Darkmatter Demon thing again. Otherwise, I'm very concerned.

I held my hand over the circle and let the blood slowly drip. There wasn't much, but I'm sure that's fine. I then kneeled down and put my hands together like advised and repeated:

"Darkness arise, Darkness arise, Darkness arise, Darkness arise, Darkness arise, Darkness arise, Darkness arise, Darkness arise!"

I stayed in the same position for a few seconds. But nothing happened. I looked up and sat there, looking around.

Nothing.

Then suddenly the light started to flicker. I looked up and suddenly it went out and it was darker than it was supposed to be. I then felt watched. I looked further down and my eyes met with the ones of a stranger. They were pale white with small black pupils. It startled me, so I moved away from it towards the door still sitting. Then the light turned back on and the circle with the candles disappeared.

"It's you..." I whispered, completely shocked.

"Huh? Where am I? Why did you summon me?" It looked confused at me.

Chills went down my back as I started to hear footsteps getting near. I panicked.

"Quick! You need to hide!" I loudly whispered.

"Where do you expect me to hide?" It asked me. It had the right to. What I said was stupid.

Instead, it turned into a black blob. I went near it and it looked at me. He turned into a cat.

"What is all this racket up here?" The door swung open as my grandmother spoke.

In a flash, I understood why it shape shifted.

"I'm sorry, grandma. It's just that I heard weird scratching coming from up here." I explained.

"What is that... 'thing'." She asked skeptically.

"It's a black cat." I answered.
