I'm sitting in my room on my bed, staring blankly at the wall with wide eyes. Darkness doesn't know about Scarlet's death yet and is concerned about me. He keeps trying to get my attention by purring next to me.
"Don't worry. Whenever you need someone to talk to, then you can always come to me."
I clenched my fist.
"Poor girl must've gotten distracted by something stupid like her."
My breathing quickened.
"She couldn't even focus on her own life and be serious for once."
"RAAAAAH!" I yelled out and landed my fist in the wall.
I then collapsed to the floor and started crying. Darkness was shocked at my sudden violent act and turned into his original form and kneeled beside me. He kept asking me questions as the things my grandmother said about Scarlet replay in my head.
How could she say that? Especially so casually and on such a rude tone right after she had died?! I could kill her for that. She's done nothing for me besides give me a roof over my head and food. I bet she didn't even cry when King Travo sacrificed himself for the kingdom all those years ago. How can she be our Queen and be such a fucking cunt at the same time?!
"Tricia, please tell me what's the matter." Darkness sounded worried.
I kept crying, trying to string a sentence together.
"I-It's... It's Scarlet.." I sobbed.
"What? What about her?" He asked.
"S-She.. She's dead!" I cried out.
I continued to cry as Darkness processed that information for a moment. He then came closer and hugged me. I jumped at the feeling as I was not expecting it but allowed him to continue. He tried to calm me down and eventually, I did.
"I don't understand... why her? She didn't deserve this!" I sniffled.
He sighed.
"Sometimes.. bad things happen to those who are good. No one understands why. Some think it's luck. Others think it's from their past life. But that's just how life is. It's unfair. To you, to me, to Scarlet, your mother... I liked her too. She was very kind." He calmly explained.
"Couldn't we try and bring her back?" I asked after he had mentioned 'past life'.
"We can't sadly. Bringing people back to life is more complicated than you think. The person needs to believe in Dark for them to get sent to the Deep Dark. If she believed in Dark, then I would've met her down there before you woke up." Darkness explained.
"Then how did I get there when I died?!" I asked a bit enraged.
Darkness looked at me.
"A long time ago, around 200 years ago, there were Truelanians who advanced the Empire in technology on a level that earth could never comprehend at that time. They managed to build a small spaceship that fit 4 or so people inside that could travel at the speed of light. So they decided to test their new invention and explored space. They stumbled upon earth and decided to land there. However, something went wrong and they couldn't restart their ship to get home. So they were forced to live on earth. So, to make a long story short, you just happen to be related to one of them without knowing so because it's so many generations back."
It took me a moment to realize what he meant.
"So... I have a Truelanian ancestor who believed in Dark?" I asked.
"Yes, but that rule only counts for those who died human on earth." Darkness explained.
"I see.." I frowned.
"But hey, I'm sure that if she had gotten the chance to come back, then she would've taken it for you. She really cared about you." Darkness comforted.
"You think so?" I looked up at him.
"Yes, she said a lot more about you than you know."
