After I had finished painting myself green, I realized that I still had time. For trick or treating, I'll just use a random plastic bag. Maybe even a trash bag. It'll fit my zombie aesthetic! My costume consists of black and white sneakers, my gray pants, an oversized black t-shirt and of course my beanie.

Technically, I still have like half an hour, but I'll go early. Imma come over and say hi to Ray!

I decided to text her about that, though.

I'm coming over to pick you up you good with that?

Ray responded like a bullet.

Yea sure girlfriend you might have to wait for me though

Cool be there in a few

I took out my map and looked where I could warp the closest. There aren't really any warp pads too close to Ray. I kind of get it since she lives on the countryside, but c'mon, it's 2034! Did they really not build any warp pads further away from cities yet?

"Are you going already?" Darkness asked, loafing next to me on my bed and staring deep into my soul.

"Yeah, I gotta pass the time somehow." I answered and put the map down and grabbed the instructions of my replacements from my desk drawer.

"Can I go with you?" He asked while morphing into a small blob that would fit under my beanie.

"Oh? Why?" I asked.

"Nothing, it's just been so long since I've been here. I want to see how everything has changed." He explained.

"But, what about Scarlet? She'll definitely notice you missing." I asked him.

"I can fix that." He said and morphed a hand to snap his fingers.

He spawned some dark matter and shaped it into the shape of a fat sleeping cat. It looks just like him!

"Go on teleport it into the cat tree." He said.

"Uh.. ok." I got up to peak around my door into the living room. I scanned the coordinates and teleported the fake black cat into the dark cat tree. I turned back to Darkness.

"Huh, it looks quite convincing." I smiled.

"Hop on, it's gonna be a 15-minute walk over to my friends house." I said, took off my beanie and kneeled in front of him.

He hopped onto my head like the blob he was. He isn't as "wet" as I expected him to be. I thought that as a blob, he would have a slimey texture. He feels more like a very squishy stressball.

I sat back down on my bed and tried to find the part of the instructions that tell you, "How to detach your prosthetics." It was the very last page. Probably so that it's easy to find. It says here that I just have to put my finger in the middle of the side of my arm right below where it's connected to its so-called base. It's supposed to unlock it. I tried to find it and suddenly, it beeped really quick a few times before falling off.

I gasped, a bit startled from how fast that went and put my arm aside.

As for my eye It's a bit different. It's not connected to anything else besides a cable that leads to the inside of my head. The instructions tell me to apparently "just take it out and unplug it."

"What the actual fuck bro..." I loudly whispered with confusion.

"Am I reading this right, Darkness?" I pointed at the line.

"...I guess so." He said also a bit weirded out.

So am I supposed to just kinda yank it out? That's straight up brutal. I sighed.

"Alright, let's just give this a try then." I said and reached my left hand to my right eye as Darkness kept watching from the top of my head.

I looked down and tried to keep my eye as far open as I could as I tried to get my nails under my skin. I couldn't feel them on my eye, but this is the most uncomfortable I've been in a long time. That's what I thought until I started pulling. The sensation of pulling my eye out of my socket was a feeling that I never thought I would EVER feel. The smooth, warm and slightly slimey glass slowly sliding against my skin through my eye socket is so God damn unpleasant. I started silently panting, trying to just get it over with and continued.

With a small and quiet pop like sound, it was finally out. I held my eye in my hand that was still attached to the cable that was attached to another one in the middle and stared off into the distance to process what horrors I had just felt.

"Are you alright?" Darkness asked in a rather concerned tone.

I looked down at my eye, which deactivated by itself from not being in my skull anymore. It's slightly shiny and it's not the glass. I quickly unplugged the cable from the other one and buried the horrific thing under my pillow. Now, the other end of the cable is hanging from my socket. I pushed it back in.

"Might as well get going then." I cleared my throat and put on my beanie with Darkness still on my head.

I waved Scarlet goodbye and proceeded to go outside with Darkness under my beanie and warped over to the other side of town and started walking with my white trash bag in hand.
