As the days passed by, we all welcomed Laura back to the squad. We now had to plan her birthday party in secret. She said she's coming to hang out on Halloween.

Perfect!

I told the others about my idea of being able to do the birthday party in my attic. They were skeptical at first, but I managed to convince them. Roy and Karline tried picking on Laura and tried to force out the reason for her absence, but this time, Sasha stepped in and told them to stop. Friday was nice, too. We didn't have to wear our uniforms since it was the last day of school before the winter holidays.

As for Saturday, I did what's important. I bought the cake ingredients and started to make it. I'll frost it and decorate it tomorrow. I wouldn't want the frosting to melt off or something. For my friends, only the best! Even if the ingredients weren't the most expensive... I also went to the Deep Dark! For obvious reasons. I sweeped through the center, read some prayers and eventually crushed a few lanterns. These lanterns are super fun to crush!

First, I collect a few from the ceiling. Then I place them one by one on the ground and jump on them! It's soooo satisfying. They make an echoing glass breaking sound and then poof into nothingness. I'm totally coming here to crush lanterns when I'm pissed off.

Surprisingly, I didn't eat dinner alone that day. My grandmother actually showed up. It was only for the sake of the first day of Halloween. She told staff to take out one extra plate for King Travo. Her deceased husband. This broke my heart. How can she take out a plate a plate for my long dead grandpa, but not for my mom? I mean, she isn't actually dead, but since she believes she is, some respect would be appreciated by me in my mother's name. I didn't even bother to argue with her this time because it won't get us anywhere, so I got up and took out an extra plate myself.

Finally, Laura's big day rolled around. Ray called me into a group call with Laura.

"Laurie, guess what?" Ray said in an excited tone.

"Hehe, what?" Laura chuckled.

"IT'S YER BIG DAY! YER BIRTHDAY, LAURIE!" Ray shouted through the phone.

Ray does this every time. To every one of us when it's our birthday. She always tries to make our birthdays more exciting she says.

"WOOOOO! YEAH, LAURIE IT'S YER BIG DAY!!" Ray shouted and applauded.

We all laughed and I clapped too.

"Thank you, thank you." She giggled.

"So, when are we celebrating?" I asked.

"I was thinking we could meet at the playground that's near Café Paw Paw's like around 6?" She offered. Brittish as always.

"Sounds good to me. You should probably text Skyler and the boys about that too." I said.

"Yeah! I can't wait to show y'all my costume-!" Ray said and suddenly hung up.

I think she did that on accident. Laura laughed and called Ray stupid. I laughed too.

"You know, I should probably be going too. I still got lots to do today like chores and shit." Laura said.

"Hehe, you're right. I gotta go too." I said.

"Alright cool. See you later." She said and hung up.

I gotta think of all the things I have to do today. I have to finish the cake, organize a room in the attic and get into my costume...

That full body paint is going to be the death of me.. Totally worth it.
