"These birds have gone extinct decades ago." Miss Yami said.

"I never thought that I would see one of my favorite birds ever again." She added.

I smiled and the phoenix repositioned itself onto my head and closed its eyes. Everyone gathered around to behold the bird. It's the time of the day when it's starting to get dark, which makes the phoenix glow even more.

"Tricia, have yer eyes always been so glowy?" Ray asked.

"Huh?"

"You're right. Your eye color is so saturated."

I pulled out my phone and turned on my camera to take a look.

"Is it just the camera, or are my eyes actually kind of bright?" I asked.

"No, no, they are bright." Laura confirmed.

"Cool, it doesn't affect my vision, sadly." I said.

We continued to train for like half an hour as Miss Yami littered me with facts about phoenixes. Other than that, I learned how to properly summon fire on my hand and throw it. I burned two training dummies. Somehow, my clothes aren't burning, though. That's weird as fuck. Maybe the wand did something? I don't know, man.

Luckily, I could try things out tomorrow, too. I don't know how to explain my new pet phoenix to my grandmother, but yolo.

"I wish I didn't have to carry this wand around.." I grumbled.

Caw! The phoenix made a crow like sound. I somehow understood words out of that.

"You can teleport the wand to wherever you like!" It said in a cranky female voice.

I stopped.

"You can talk?!"

Another 'caw' emitted from the female bird.

"Yes, but only the wielder of the wand can do so." She explained.

"Interesting. Do you know how to teleport this wand?" I asked.

"Just think of the place you want it to be in! You must be very specific, however. Otherwise, it can end horribly wrong." She explained.

I held the wand in front of me tight and deeply thought about my closet. It's best to put it in my closet so that no one, for whatever reason, enters my room would  see it.

I closed my eyes and felt it disappear. I looked up again. Let's hope that it made it to my closet. Otherwise, I might be doomed. When I arrived home, I immediately checked.

"It's here!"

I felt relieved. I found my grandmother as always at the dining table where we eat together. That's basically all we do together. I explained to her that a phoenix found me and won't leave me. She also said the same thing as Miss Yami. She obviously agreed to keep it. She came into my room later on with a steal bird cage and told me to put the bird in there.

My phoenix accepted her fate and went into the cage. Then Scarlet discovered my new pet. She was fascinated like everyone else but told me a very interesting thing.

Apparently, a phoenix used to be very common in Truelania. So common that they had to use a magical spell to fireproof every building and even furniture ever built. Our society got so used to it that it's still being done. That's incredibly good to know.

As an experiment, I set my phoenix, who I now named Flame on my desk to see if it would burn. To my surprise, it actually didn't. Scarlet also informed me that phoenixes don't need to eat and don't drink anything at all. Another profit.

Darkness, who was resting on my bed like the fat cat he is now, was also very fond of Flame.

After me and my grandmother and I resumed eating dinner, I thought that now was the perfect time to take a shower and get ready for bed. My hair sure is getting quite greasy... fucking gross.

I took my pajamas and went to the bathroom, where I removed my bandages first. My wounds are nearly healed up by now. I brushed my hair well so that it didn't become so tangly after the shower and turned the water on. I reached to feel the waters temperature before undressing and going in to shower.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.
