But, then, I also felt my temperature change. I felt a bit colder. Jack got up and took off his jacket and blanket. He was in shock. He stood up and felt himself not believing it.
"Did you just warm me?" He asked.
"I-I don't know, maybe?" I answered.
"Whatever you just did, thank you. I feel much better..." He sighed in relief.
I smiled as he collapsed on his bed again. He covered his face and groaned.
"What a day.." He quietly said.
"What's the matter, Jack? I can tell there's more." I asked, sitting beside him.
"I'm lucky that Miss Yami let me stay home today... My parents didn't even bother to listen.. as always." He said.
"I know your parents are like this, but I hope you remember that we're always here if you need someone to talk to." I wrapped my arm around him.
"I know... don't worry. I'm just so sick of it... It's like they don't even notice me." He said a little shaky.
I continued to comfort him and talk with him. We chilled together for some time. He said that he felt better and thanked me for coming. Before I left, I pulled him into a hug, which he embraced and started to sob a little on my shoulder.
"You're such a good friend, Tricia.. thank you." He said and pulled away, wiping his tears.
"Oh, and don't ever hide your feelings from us. You matter, Jackie. Remember." I said and left.
I felt good about myself while returning home. I just now also realized that I'm not wearing a jacket! I barely feel cold.
When I got back, there wasn't a single soul in here. I'm all by myself. Look, I know that I only had my mom as family, but this is just... I don't even know what to categorize this as. For the rest of the day, I basically just tried to let time pass by as fast as possible.
Finally, it was time for the arena meeting where I met with the others. Everyone besides Jack was concerned for the two of us. We explained that we acquired the artifacts already and what happened. They wanted to see what our new abilities could do, but we both don't know how to use them.
Miss Yami told the others to start training with the help of instruction papers for each of us. If we were confused, then we should just ask her. She did tell Jack to test out his new gun, though. She turned to me and said she wanted to help me.
"Since Jack can already start training by testing out his gun, which should be quite simple, I can help you discover your new powers!" She said.
"I've been reading this book since yesterday that I borrowed from the museum. It says things about your wand as well. It's called the Phoenix wand and apparently, you can summon a pet phoenix." She explained.
"What?! How?" I asked.
"It says that you have to hold your arm out and whistle." She said.
Is it really that simple? I held my arm out as I tried to whistle. I used to be good at it with my other hand. But nonetheless, I was whistling. We both waited for a moment, but nothing happened.
I knew it. Simple would be too good for me.

An eagle like sound was heard from a distance. We looked around as it caught everyone's attention. There was a blue dot on the sky that was going towards me at a rapid speed. I freaked out and shut my eyes tight as something warms landed on my arm. I hesitantly opened them to see a blue phoenix in all its glory.
