My grandmother looked at me with a face that no creature could read. I started eating when she asked me this.
"It's your mother, isn't it?"
I simply nodded slightly.
"Well, you're not the only one who lost her." She said.
"She's gone now and there's nothing we can do about it, so there's no use in feeling so blue." She added.
"..I suppose." I said.
And I lied saying that. It's like she doesn't care. Mom is gone and that's it, huh? Well, she isn't and I'll find her. Eventually.
Suddenly, I started to sense sadness. And it's bitter.
I looked up from my plate. It's Eddie! He seems to be repressing some emotions. I think he misses Mom as well. That's what I assume since he just listened to this conversation that just took place.
Maybe I should talk to him. I ate dinner and patiently waited till my grandmother finished. A good first impression is important. Especially with someone like her.
"How was the macaroni a la chése?" She asked.
See, I knew it had a fancier name.
"It was good, I liked it." I answered.
She sat there and nodded with a smile.
"Good, good." She said.
"Well, you're free to go, I still have my own duties to attend to as Queen." She added while getting up.
She left with the biggest bitch look on her face I have ever seen. I still sat there trying to process what just happened till I decided to get up and picked up my grandmother's plate along with mine to bring it back to the kitchen. Eddie walked up to me as calm as ever.
"You know you don't have to do this. That's why we work here." He said, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Ah, yes, that's right. Sorry, I'm not used to such things." I chuckled.
He giggled back at me.
"Go on and enjoy your free time. We'll take everything from here." He assured me.
I said ok and left back to my room, leaving the plates in the dining room. I was now sitting on my bed thinking of something to do. First, I thought I could do something on my laptop and to my surprise somehow all my stuff from my old laptop was on here.
So I decided to play minecraft, but soon realized something. I need two hands to play. I can't play minecraft. Well I mean, I can but it's annoying as fuck.
Maybe I can draw instead! Oh no, wait.. I'm right-handed. This is going to kill me.
God. Fucking. Damn it.
I can barely do anything. I can't play games, draw or anything else. I can't even play a board game because I'm by myself.
Oh wait, I could watch TV in the living room. Not all hope's lost!
I went to the living room and on my way there, I walked into the door frame of my room, hitting the side of my face.
"Ow, what the fuck.."
I was so confused to how this happened. I touched the frame and realized it's a lot closer to my right than to my left. For fucks sakes how did I not see that? I'm only half blind. HOW??? Am I really that disabled?
I guess I am no arm and no eye. That really is a lot more than it seems.
Finally, I made it the couch and turned on the TV. I flipped through the channels until I reached the news and I couldn't believe my eye what I was seeing.
