After the note disappeared and I got ready, I planned when to go to church after school. I gotta get flowers for Halloween and be there at the right time. The party starts at 4 in the afternoon till the late evening. It already starts getting dark around that hour.
"Perfect." I mischievously said.
I made my way to school and Laura wasn't there as predicted. Only Ray and the boys were there. Although there was something concerning about Sasha today. He had a black eye. He looked like he got beaten up. I wonder what happened. He didn't even glance at me. Not even when he was sitting next to me. He acts like a beaten up dog around Roy and Karline. I'm not sure what's happening between them, but it's bad.
Right after school, I went to the local flower shop and bought a bouquet of dark purple lilies. That's when the cashier asked me if I'm excited about the upcoming winter break. I completely forgot about that! And it's in like 2 weeks.
Sweet, no school for 3 months! Or at least here in Truelania because temperatures reach down to -40 Celsius. The price for that luxury is that we don't have a long summer holiday. It's only like 2 weeks! What a fucking rip off!
I went back home and Darkness greeted me in his cat form by rubbing up against my leg and purring obnoxiously. That warmed my heart in these dark times. I changed into my everyday clothes and kept thinking of what to say or ask Laura. Poor thing will be confused to see me there.
"What are the flowers for Tricia?" Darkness asked.
"Oh, nothing! I'm just gonna pay a small visit to the church."
"Oh, well then, don't forget them." He said.
"There's also something else that is veeeery important for me to take with me. It's for something very special I've been planning ever since I got that flyer from Miss Brown." I smiled as I played with my fingers and then rushed to the kitchen.
"Have fun, I guess?" He said a little weirded out.
I don't plan to bring a bag. Only my pockets in my sweater. Perhaps something under my hat. So, I'll just lay the things I'll need later out here on the counter and then teleport them! The instructions said that I could take notes somehow with my eye.
And I can.
There's a small menu button in a corner that I can open by simply thinking of doing so. Then, I have a few options and choose "notes" and then write by thinking.
I wrote down the coordinates of the things on the counter and made my way to the church. I warped to the basement and was greeted by a shocked and speechless Laura who just so happened to be there too wearing a nun outfit.
We looked at each other for a split second.
"Uh..." Laura spoke.
"Fuck. Um... Hi!" I panicked.
She just looked at me while at a loss for words.
"I... Uh.. Surprise!" I stupidly said and stupidly posed.

"How did you- What did you?" Laura stumbled on her words.
"Don't worry about it. It's nothing illegal or unsafe." I answered and stood normal again.
"Then, uh, what are you doing here?" She asked.
"What am I doing here? What are YOU doing here? I thought you couldn't go down here." I playfully accused her.
"W-Well, I.. um.." She panicked.
"Just kidding, just kidding. I came here to say hello." I smiled. I'm glad to see her in one piece.
I stepped closer. She looked away and some hair got in her face.
"How are you? The others said you weren't in school like all week last week." I said.
I wanted to move the hair out of her face gently, but as my hand came closer to her, she smacked it away. It took me by surprise. It took a second for her to realize what she has done.
"I.. I'm sorry." She said and moved her hair herself.
"It's just that I'm not really in the mood for, uh, touching." She said as she awkwardly stood there looking away.
"Hey, no worries. I get it. Is there a reason why you're not really showing up? Did something happen while I was away?" I asked even though I know already.
She hesitated.
"It's ok. You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." I said, trying to cut her some slack.
I feel so bad for her and she doesn't even know that I know about this. I hope she'll be happier after my big surprise. Everything has to be perfect. I NEED to do this. Whenever I think about it, I get excited and my skin starts crawling.
I told Laura that I'd explain the warp pads and where I was for the past 2 weeks another day. We chatted for a little while. I tried to cheer her up a little by giving her compliments and just genuinely nice things.
I even got her to smile.
