Requiem for the Miraculous 5

Ladybug ran across the rooftops of Paris with her earplugs in her ears. 

"Ladybug, the supervillain is shrouded in smoke, I can't see him clearly!" Ladybug heard Cat Noir's voice and it sounded very tense. "Don't worry, kitty cat. We'll manage, we just have to get closer!" Ladybug replied and jumped onto the road. "Rena, where is the supervillain?" Ladybug wanted to know. "On the bridge in front of the Eiffel Tower," she replied. "Meet me there," she swung her yoyo and flew over the cars to land on the bridge in front of the Eiffel Tower. It already had countless cracks from which black smoke was rising. Cat Noir landed next to his partner and together they looked at the acumatized inhabitant, whose skin had turned dark purple and a thick black smoke billowed around him. Only his white, clear eyes, without pupil or iris, were in contrast to the rest. 

"Ladybug and Cat Noir! Leave me alone, I don't want to fight you," the person said, his voice dark and raspy, consumed as if it wasn't human. "We only want to help you and free you from the Akuma!" Ladybug shouted, trying to calm the other person down. But he growled and shook his head angrily. He picked up the destroyed car next to him and threw it at Ladybug and Cat Noir. Cat Noir knocked the pieces away with his staff. "Are you all right, Dot?" he asked charmingly. "Yes, now," she said and winked at him. "Hey you two, you can flirt later," Rena Rouge reminded them both of the mission. Ladybug flung the yoyo and tried to tie the rogue up, but the yoyo just went right through him. "He's... he's made of fog!" Cat Noir said, dodging an approaching truck. 

"Cataclysm!" shouted the cat and ran towards the villain, but he stopped just before he did and touched the ground beneath his feet. The part of the bridge collapsed immediately, causing the rogue to materialize briefly to hold on with his hand, but just at that moment Rena Rouge grabbed the culprit and threw him to the ground. Ladybug immediately tore off one of his shoes and threw it at Cat Noir. "Your entrance Chat!" she shouted and Cat Noir tore off the shoe, out of which flew a black butterfly. Just as Ladybug was about to catch it, it became clean and flew away. "What was that?" Cat Noir wondered, looking at the white butterfly. "Why did Ultimoth call the Akuma back?" Rena wondered. "I don't know, let's clean up here. Chat, will you take the boy away?" so the heroes split up. But when Cat Noir came back and the three of them clapped their hands, someone joined them. "Well done," said the three of them. 

"Well done? WELL DONE? HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?" roared a voice behind them. It was the Grand Keeper Su Han. Ladybug stepped back, startled. The Grand Keeper was not exactly pleased that Ladybug had lost all the other Miraculous. She could still remember what he had said to her. "Just one mistake, one mistake! Then I'll take the mother box away from you. Do we understand each other?" he had shouted in Marinette's face. And now... she had lost again. She had failed as a guardian. 

"Yes, I know, Grandmaster Su Han, I lost, I made too many stupid mistakes. And I also remember what you told me," Ladybug replied meekly. "That's right. Give me your Miraculous. It's time I put an end to this mess. You've played superheroes long enough," said Su Han and held out her hand. "Nothing there," Cat Noir took the floor and stood in front of his partner. Su Han raised one eyebrow. "Don't put on a show, Cat," he grumbled at him. "Ladybug is the best guardian ever! Even Master Fu said so, and it's totally human to make mistakes! Especially when Ladybug wasn't trained to be a guardian or even wanted to be one," Chat replied, giving his lady a warm smile. 

"You'd rather have helped her, trained her, instead of grumbling at her every, really every time that she didn't manage something, didn't do it right or overlooked something," Cat Noir shouted angrily and crossed his arms in front of his chest.

The Grand Keeper looked at him seriously. "Please give us another chance! Give Ladybug another chance!" Rena Rouge begged and stood next to her friend. "Besides... no one knows Ultimoth as well as we do. You'd better fight with us," she tried to convince the guardian. Su Han looked at the three of them skeptically, then sighed loudly. 

"Fine by me. But I'll have to give you more training. Hawkmoth is much stronger now, so we have to get stronger too," Su Han explained. "That's why you Ladybug, and you cat for all I care, are coming with me to Tibet," he finished his statement. "And what about me?" Rena wanted to know. "You're holding the fort because of Ultimoth," that settled it. Ladybug and Cat Noir would visit the great old temple of the guardians. "I'll tell the school you're ill or something, I'll think of something for everything," Rena Rouge promised, said goodbye and jumped away. Ladybug looked after her for a while. "It's about time. We have to leave to get there in time," the Grand Keeper urged the duo. "Well then, let's get going," Chat meowed and followed Su Han. Ladybug hesitated for a moment, something was nagging at her. 

She didn't have a good feeling about this. Would Paris be safe in her absence? She had no other choice anyway. With one last deep breath, she followed her partner. Her eyes trembled, her hands tightened
