Gabriel Agrest turned to the round window and grinned. This was his biggest plan yet. This time he would, no, he had to win! "Today is the day that Ladybug and Cat Noir will lose! Today is the day that the Miraculous of the Ladybug and the Black Cat will belong to me!" he shouted and laughed mockingly. Then he turned around, behind him stood a person in the shadows.

"Yes, you will. Your plan is flawless. You have played a game with these puny superheroes long enough. All the pieces are now ready on the chessboard. Victory is in your pocket," hissed a young girl, running her hand through her chestnut-colored hair. Gabriel Agrest nodded. "Lila Rosi. You will play an important role in this final act," explained Gabriel, then took off his tie. "Nuuroo, transform me!" he shouted and the next moment he stood there as Ultimoth. "Kagami will be devastated today, and then Veronique and Dark Owl too!" he laughed. He waved his staff around. "And to you, dear Lila..." he whispered. Gabriel came closer, his dark eyes shining. "I will give the dog Miraculous," he finished his sentence with a devilish grin. "Cat Noir and Ladybug are greatly weakened by the recent events... they will not be waiting for you," he added. "I will not disappoint you again." She took a step forward. Ultimoth reached out a hand and handed Lila the dog Miraculous. She smiled and put the collar around her neck. Suddenly Barkk appeared. She looked at Lila worriedly. She had not had good experiences with Felix. "What... the..." Baark stammered worriedly. "Don't worry, so that your friends don't notice that you're not there, I wish they see a Barkk, even though it's not there," Ultimoth added. "So... something like an... illusion?" Baark wanted to know. "Yes... exactly... and you will take me exactly to Ladybug... because the stupid Barkk will want to escape," Ultimoth laughed and grinned. "No... you can't-" the Kwami wanted to protest, but Gabriel silenced her. "Are you ready, Lila?" he wanted to know. "Yes, I am," she replied. "Barkk! Let's hunt!" and with these words she transformed into Miss Bell.

"Ladybug... this is your last day"

Marinette stared, still shocked, into Ultimoth's grinning face. How...how was that possible, how could everything have happened so quickly? "But the Kwamis! They should never have..." Marinette wanted to reply, but Ultimoth cut her off. "I tricked you all. The Kwamis were forced to escape by my illusion, which is how they brought me to you...Ladybug," he growled, bringing his face closer to Ladybug. "Look at you...you're shaking! Are you not feeling well?" he asked gleefully, while Marinette tried to free herself from her situation. Her breathing was still chaos, but she quickly looked around. Marinette grabbed her box and threw it in Ultimoth's face, who stumbled backwards a little. But she didn't make it to the attic hatch; she was grabbed by the arm and pulled upstairs. She thrashed in the air as Ultimoth held her up. "Don't scream, you don't want anything to happen to your parents, do you?" he hissed quietly. Marinette started to cry. No, no, no! This couldn't end like this! Hawkmoth couldn't win! "You won't get the other Miraculous from me!" she cried and tried to free herself from his grip, but it was in vain. Ultimoth only grinned even more. "I don't need them. I only need yours... Ladybug," he whispered eerily and tried to reach for her earrings, but Marinette thrashed around. "And then? Cat Noir will stop you! You'll never be able to win, Gabriel Agrest!" she cried. Astonished, at least for a split second, Marinette could see horror in his eyes. Then he laughed too. "You really think I'm Gabriel Agrest?" he laughed. "Yes, you gave out your rings, Alias, to everyone so that you could give them the powers of the Miraculous! That was your plan from the start. What about Alias protecting us! It's a weapon to destroy us!" Marinette shouted angrily and wanted to kick Ultimoth, but he held out his arms. No wonder, Marinette wasn't exactly tall and the guy was easily 6'1". "You're talking rubbish, sweetheart. You have no evidence," he growled. Marinette bit her lip. Suddenly she heard something.

Adrien stormed through the bakery, Marinette's parents were baking the last things, they looked at Adrien in surprise. "Is everything OK?" the mother wanted to know, but Adrien stormed upstairs without saying anything. "Marinette!" he shouted, then he came up through the hatch and froze - Marinette and Ultimoth were standing in front of him. Or rather, Ultimoth was holding Marinette in the air. "Marine-" he gasped as Marinette screamed. "Get out of here, Adrien!" she shouted. But Adrien didn't hesitate, he grabbed her chair and hit Ultimoth. "Let her go now!" he yelled. Ultimoth took his staff and cut the chair. "Adrien..." he gasped.

"Marinette...don't you want to tell your boyfriend your secret? No?" Ultimoth suddenly wanted to know. Adrien looked at the scene in shock. The man stopped just in front of Marinette's ears. "Tell him, please," he said incorrectly. "No...I...I...can't," but Ultimoth's hand came closer and closer. Adrien looked for something to fight with, but at that very moment it happened. "TIKKI, TRANSFORM ME!" shouted Marinette as she turned into Ladybug in front of his eyes. "What-" Adrien's eyes widened, had he just seen that right? Marinette...was...Ladybug...? "Marinette," the blonde gasped, but Ladybug pulled herself together, a tear running down her cheek. There was no turning back. She took her yo-yo and tied up Ultimoth, then in the next moment she sent him flying miles through the air, into some street in Paris. The man landed hard, rolled over and lay there gasping.

"You... you... are... Ladybug?!" Adrien gasped and had to smile. Ladybug looked sadly at the ground. "Yes... but you weren't allowed to know... Adrien... I'm sorry... we're not allowed to be together..." she sobbed. Adrien shook his head. "No, no," he said and smiled, he put his hands in hers. "But Ultimoth knows my real name..." she cried. She looked at Adrien with watery eyes. His cheeks were red. "You probably don't want me after you found out that the great Ladybug... is just me. A baker's girl," she said and looked down at the ground again. Adrien squeezed her hand. "No. I just found out that you are the one I have idolized since the first moment. You are the incredible heroine of Paris! You are Ladybug!" he said and hugged her. Their faces touched, his hair caressed her neck. "I-," Ladybug gasped. Suddenly he took a step back. He was still looking at her. "Plagg, transform me!" Adrien called when Cat Noir suddenly stood in front of Ladybug. "What..." Ladybug's breathing became faster again. That couldn't-

"I..." Ladybug let her Arms dropped, her eyes doubled in size and her heart wanted to jump out, it wanted to tear itself to Adrien, to the boy she loved. Unbelievable! Cat Noir...had been Adrien all along! She had pushed him away so many times! "You see, we both have secrets...but now we know them. Together we are stronger," Adrien said to her. "I'm so glad I don't have to hide Cat Noir from you anymore," he confessed. "Adrien-" she hugged him, tears streaming down her face. "We can finally be together..." she murmured. "It will all be fine. I promise," Cat Noir replied. They paused for a moment, then Ladybug restrained herself. "There is no turning back. This may be our last day. We must defeat Ultimoth. Once and for all," Ladybug said clearly. "Let's do this. Together," and with these words the two jumped out of the room and followed Hawkmoth into the streets to begin the final battle.
