The last day: Confrontation II

Ladybug and Cat Noir jumped over the rooftops of Paris when they reached the ground, where Ultimoth stood up, gasping for air, and grinned. "So, so, I see you dragged your partner here too, Ladybug...or should I say-" but Ladybug cut him off by throwing her yo-yo right in his face. "Shut up, you moth!" she shouted angrily and tried to jump on him, but Ultimoth caught her foot despite the pain and hurled her back at Cat Noir. 

"Don't you want to tell your partner your big secret? Don't you want to tell him who you really are?" growled Ultimoth and pulled out the sword from his staff. Cat Noir didn't even bat an eyelid, he took Ladybug's hand and smiled, his cheeks glowing. "Whoever she is, I don't care because my love for her will not change," replied Chat and extended his staff. "Well then, let's fight. This will be your last fight! This will be your end!" Ultimoth shouted and lunged forward. He struck the two heroes down with his staff, but Ladybug slipped under his feet, tied one leg and did a somersault. Cat Noir parried his sword and pulled him forward by his arm. Just as Ultimoth was about to strike, Ladybug pulled on the yo-yo and the man fell on his stomach. His staff rolled forward, and Cat Noir tried to crush him. 

"Protective shield!" Ultimoth shouted and grabbed his staff. Cat Noir didn't hesitate and came towards Ultimoth. "Black Storm!" he roared, sending Ultimoth flying through the streets until he crashed into several cars. "What the..." he gasped, holding his side with a distorted face. "A little surprise for you," said Chat and grinned. "Then... I have one too," the man gritted his teeth and opened his staff. Thousands of Akumas came out, he had used the power of the rooster again. "I'll take care of it!", shouted Ladybug and opened her yo-yo. In a matter of seconds, she caught every Akuma before it could even leave the street and let all the butterflies out. 

"Hopefully they see my signal," whispered Ladybug and came back to Cat Noir. The two of them came threateningly closer to Ultimoth. "I can't defeat myself! I have much more power!" shouted Ultimoth and raised his hand. "Confusion!" he shouted and got a toy banana in his hand. "Take this," he shouted and threw the toy at Ladybug, but she was able to dodge at the last moment. The banana hit the car, and the next moment it turned into confetti. "Don't let it hit you," said Ladybug and lifted a car, which she threw at Ultimoth, who split the metal like butter with his staff. "We can't do it with just the two of us," Cat Noir admitted, dodging a piece of lantern. "I know, that's why I sent a signal."

Alya and Nino were sitting in bed when suddenly something started to crash and clatter in the background. The next moment, thousands of white butterflies appeared, buzzing around. "What's going on?" Nino wondered, stepping out onto the balcony to get a better view. "It looks like Ladybug needs my help," Alya said worriedly, jumping out. "That was an emergency signal," she explained quickly. Then her gaze shifted to the letter. Marinette had only ever made an emergency signal up to now... when she had fought... Hawkmoth. Alya gasped in shock. "I have to open this letter," she said, grabbing the envelope. She quickly pulled out her shoes and stumbled outside. "And what about Rena Rouge?" Nino wanted to know. Alya paused. 

"After all, I can't help anymore, since Ultimoth still has the turtle's Miraculous," grumbled Nino. "I have an idea," replied Alya and grinned. "I'll take care of the letter. And you..." she took her Miraculous from her. "You'll swap for me," she said and put the fox's Miraculous in Nino's hand. "Are you sure?" asked Nino. "One hundred percent," she replied, kissed him on the mouth, then disappeared outside with one last look. She had to hurry, otherwise this could really be the last time. The last time she sees Ladybug and Cat Noir. Nino followed her hesitantly for a moment, then put the chain around her neck. "Let's make Alya proud," giggled Trixx excitedly. Nino nodded. He would help Ladybug and Cat Noir, no matter what. "Trixx, give me a paw!" called and the next moment he was standing there as The Zorro. "It's time for Ultimoth to lose," Nino grumbled and jumped from the balcony.

Cloé and Zoé watched the news with interest, where Nadja Chamak translated the fight between Ladybug and Ultimoth. "We have to help them," Zoé said, looking worriedly out of the window. Cloé turned to her half-sister. "You stay here. I don't want anything to happen to you" she said and hugged her sister. 

"I'll be back, I promise," she murmured. "Don't be afraid," Zoé replied and grinned. "Pollen! Transform me!", shouted Cloé and as Queen Bee she swung out into the fight that might be her last. "If I defeat you, you moth, I can finally be a hero in peace," murmured Queen Bee and nodded. Ladybug would have her complete trust. 

This fight will be the last. For Hawkmoth.
