Requiem for the Miraculous 12

"What... what are you doing here?" Cat Noir called out in astonishment. Ladybug hadn't expected to see Gabriel Agrest's assistant on Hawkmoth's side either. "Why?" Chat didn't understand. Nathalie smiled charmingly and adjusted her glasses. "I work for Hawkmoth. And I do it for a good reason," she explained coldly. Her brittle voice carried through the cave. Cat Noir had to pull herself together not to scream. How dared she lie to him and his father like that! "And what is the reason? Please don't give me power! That would be totally ridiculous," grumbled Cat Noir in a bad mood. Ladybug was already taking out her yo-yo, ready to fight. Nathalie's face softened. 

"I'm doing it because of Adrien. Because of Gabriel...because of Emelie. I want to bring her back, do you understand?" she lied icily. But Cat Noir believed her, his heart leapt. Nathalie went so far for him and his family that she even went to Hawkmoth?! "He suggested I help...and then if he has your Miraculous, I can make a wish," Nathalie explained, only the heroes didn't know this was all a lie. "Enough talk! It's time to end all this!" shouted Ultimoth, brandishing his staff. "That makes two of us," Ladybug said and jumped off without warning. "Hide Nathalie," Gabriel hissed and the young woman ran behind one of the pillars. 

 Ann quickly jumped onto the cat and tried to stab it with her robotic arms, but Cat Noir quickly dodged and hit the spider lady's head with her staff. She staggered to the side and threw the poisoned blade at Chat, who dodged at the last second and the blade thundered into the rocks above his head. "Kitty, kitty kitty!" she shouted gleefully, but was knocked aside by Ladybug's kick the next moment. Ultimoth sent a couple of Akumas towards her, which Ladybug quickly caught and dodged Arachide's spider webs at the same moment. With a backflip, she landed next to Su Han, who ran towards Ultimoth with his staff. The two of them hit each other with their staffs while Ladybug tried to sink her yo-yo into Arachide's face, but she missed and got stuck in the wall. "Chat," she shouted and Cat Noir took advantage of the situation, jumping onto the taut rope and throwing his staff like a spear towards Arachide. 

"Bad cat," she growled and threw a spider web at him, but the cat ducked and his staff crashed into the spider lady a few centimetres away. She dodged to the side, cursing, only to receive a punch from Ladybug. Cat Noir rushed up and knocked her feet away with her staff, but Arachide braced herself with her robotic arms and flung them both away. Ultimoth threw Su Han against the wall, where he lay gasping. He tried to get to his feet as Ultimoth came running towards him. "Die!" he shouted, but Ladybug tied up his legs, causing him to stumble to the ground. Cat Noir saved the Grand Keeper at the same moment. The three of them faced the two villains again. "If I use the good luck charm...I only have five minutes left," she cursed, what was she supposed to do now? 

"Cataclysm!" shouted Cat Noir and jumped towards Arachide. "It's too dangerous! The cave!" Su Han warned him, but he had to dodge another Akuma. "How many more do you want to make?" shouted Ladybug angrily, catching the black butterfly. Ultimoth laughed, pointing his finger at Ladybug. He was wearing the Miraculous rooster. "Infinity!" he roared and a big, fat swarm of Akumas headed for Ladybug. "What a mess!" she cursed and swung her yo-yo at the Akumas as fast as she could. Su Han also knocked some away with his staff before jumping up and leaping onto Ultimoth's head. He tried to throw him to the ground, but Ultimoth was far too big, so he flung the Grand Keeper back. He crashed into Ladybug, who had just finished collecting the Akumas. She immediately stood up, ran at Ultimoth and instead of jumping or throwing the yo-yo, she opened it and the hundreds of white butterflies bounced into Ultimoth's face. "Take that!" she shouted. Cat Noir took advantage of the situation and grabbed Ultimoth's staff with the cataclysm, but Arachide used her power to her advantage. "Poison," she said gloomily and her right han began to glow green. 

"Why does she have so many abilities?" Ladybug wondered indignantly. To which the spider lady only laughed. She tried to touch Cat Noir, but missed and hit a large, glowing mushroom, which melted the next moment. "Now it's my turn!" Cat Noir shouted and jumped towards her, only a few millimeters away, she couldn't dodge, but suddenly he felt a kick in his stomach. Nathalie had kicked him away! He landed next to the wall, gasping, and that's when it happened. His claw touched the rock face! 

"Oh what a mess!" he stood up, cursing, and looked at the cracks in the wall that now ran through the entire ceiling. "Oh oh," Arachide said and giggled. "The cave... it's going to collapse any minute!" Su Han shouted and watched as the cave began to fall apart.

Rena Rouge stared at her terrified mother's face. What should she do now? "What the...where is my daughter?" she wanted to know immediately. "Rena Rouge, I thought...you..." she didn't say it. "I'll explain everything later...but..." she stammered. She had to think of something good now, but what? Sabine couldn't find out that Marinette was Ladybug! "Um...and as for Marinette..." she stammered on. "Speak up!" she begged Marinette's mother. "She has to help Ladybug on a secret mission..." Rena replied confidently. "That's all I can say," she said quickly. Sabine looked uncertain but also a little relieved. 

"What does Marinette have to do, not that she's in danger!" Sabine interjected immediately. Rena just shook her head. "No, no. She's just supposed to...let's say design something...but that's between us, okay?" Rena said and wanted to go out of the window. "And what are you doing here?" Sabine asked curiously. "I wanted to calm you down with an illusion, but...I don't need it now"; with that, she disappeared out of the window. Sabine looked after her worriedly. Something was wrong, Rena Rouge hadn't told her the truth...but why?

Rena Rouge was back in her room. "Trixx, turn me back!" she whispered and lay down on the bed. "Wow, that was close," Trixx said and grabbed a grape. Alya nodded. Hopefully Marinette would come back safe and sound - otherwise all the lies would soon be exposed.
