The last Day: Hawkmoths Wish VI - Truth about the Agrestes Rings

Ladybug didn't hesitate for a second and threw her yo-yo at Emelie Agrest so she could tie the woman down, but she dodged unexpectedly and threw her staff and Ladybug. The tip thundered towards her, but Cat Noir parried the blow lightning fast, the staff clattered to the ground, where it rolled back and forth until it disappeared into the water below. 

"Don't you dare attack her," growled Cat Noir. Emelie Agrest stood up, trying to smile. "Adrien... my son... please listen to me," she whispered sadly. "No. You are not my mother. My mother would never be like that!" growled Chat and clenched his fists. Mariposa took a step back, shocked. "How can you say something like that? What's gotten into you? I'm doing it for your aunt... for my sister!" she interjected. But Adrien shook his head. "This isn't real. This is all just a big lie. This is just another reality that shouldn't exist like this!" he hissed. Emelie tensed up. "If that's so..." she gasped. Her eyes narrowed. "Then I'll just do it alone. I'll get your Miraculous anyway! I'll save my sister!" she shouted angrily. "Don't you understand that you're making the same mistake as me?" Gabriel stood up. "You'll just create another reality, with new problems and on top of that... you'll pay a high price!" Gabriel objected. He walked quickly towards Emelie. "Just stop. Do you hear?" he begged her. Emelie's pupils became tiny. 

"YOU TRAITOR," she grumbled and pushed him aside. Gabriel crashed into the capsule and landed roughly on the floor. "YOU ARE ALL TRAITORS," she screamed. "The power of the Miraculous has driven you crazy!" Cat Noir shouted angrily. That wasn't Emelie. That wasn't his mother either. It was a woman who had gone mad. "We will stop you," Ladybug agreed. Emelie laughed - her voice trembled across the floor. "You want to stop me? You have failed miserably in your world," she hissed. But Ladybug stopped listening and kicked her in the stomach. Emelie caught her foot and hurled her against the capsule. The glass shattered and Ladybug landed hard. She slammed her yo-yo against Emelie's foot, causing her to fall to the ground. Mariposa tried to get up, but suddenly Cat Noir darted forward and slammed his fist into her face. Emelie rolled against the railing, lying there limp. 

"AND YOU CALL YOURSELF MY SON?" she screamed with the last of her strength. "Please...Emelie," Gabriel breathed and tried to get up, but the pain in his ribs made him wince. Cat Noir only got angrier. "Shut up," he growled. He held out his hand. "Surrender. Now," Adrien demanded of his mother. But she just laughed. "You can't force me to do anything. I have power over you," she laughed. Ladybug went to his partner. What did Emelie mean by that? "No...Emelie..." Gabriel begged his wife. "Shut up, you useless loser," she snapped back. "That's enough," growled Cat Noir. He stepped closer. "Cataclysm," he whispered, the black power appearing in his claw. "It's time to end everything here, I'm destroying the Miraculous," he said in an ice-cold voice. Emelie grinned maliciously. "You're right, it's time to end them all, isn't it Gabriel?" she hissed. Cat Noir reached out to destroy the butterfly's Miraculous when something suddenly held him back. Suddenly he could no longer move. A few centimeters from the brooch, his hand, no, his whole body, seemed to have turned to stone. "What...the..." he gasped. Emelie raised her hand with pleasure. "Adrien...Adrien...Adrien..." she laughed tonelessly. "I order you to stop...no...to stand at the back," she ordered. 

"What...no..." Adrien tried to defend himself, but suddenly he stood back and stood stock still. "Adrien?" Ladybug looked at him in fear. "And now give me your Miraculous," she demanded. "No...I..." Adrien tried not to listen to his mother, but his eyes suddenly became empty, his face emotionless. He took off the ring and transformed back. "What is happening here?!" Ladybug screamed. Emelie laughed. "You don't know? Oh yes, Gabriel and I never told each other," she hissed. Ladybug looked worriedly at Gabriel. "Emelie stop..." he begged her weakly. Adrien tried to move, but he couldn't, it was... as if his mother was controlling him. How was that possible? Emelie transformed back and pointed to her wedding ring. "The rings... do you notice anything?" Emelie played happily with Adrien and Marinette. "You want to know the truth, don't you?" she giggled. "Stop Emelie, he's our son," Gabriel whispered. Emelie shook her head. 

"It's all a lie. Adrien and Felix are sentimonsters. They are not people. They are not real. I created them. They are my puppets, nothing more."

"What?"

Marinette didn't understand.Her brain couldn't process it.Adrien...her Adrien...was a sentimental monster?Adrien and Felix...were created by Emelie?They weren't even...

"No," Marinette gasped and stepped back. That couldn't be true.It just couldn't be right.It was all just a big lie!

"I don't believe you!" Marinette cried, tears streaming down her cheeks, her back hitting the railing. Emelie laughed. "Yes. I created them both. Because Amelie and I couldn't have children! You don't believe me?" she asked and raised her finger. "Take the Miraculous away from Ladybug, Adrien," she ordered. Adrien said nothing, he turned to Ladybug like a robot and walked towards her. His eyes, empty. His face, emotionless. He walked towards her and held out his hands. "Adrien...Adrien!" Marinette whispered. She tried to hug him, to kiss him, but he ignored her. He didn't hear her. He wouldn't listen to her. 

"Adrien...you're in there, you're real..." her voice failed. She wanted to cry, she wanted to scream, but not a single sound came out of her mouth. The realization wrapped itself around Marinette's neck like a heavy, spiky chain, squeezing her breath away. She gasped, she gasped for air. "Adrien isn't human, Marinette. Have you ever wondered why he's so perfect? ​​Why do you think we never let him out? Because he's not human...he's my creation!" she cried. Marinette collapsed to the floor. The world before her eyes blurred. Adrien knelt down and took off her earrings. Marinette knelt on the floor as if in a trans and cried. Adrien turned lifelessly to his mother. Suddenly he started to fight back. "I created you after I found the Miraculous! The rings are the objects where the Amok is, do you understand, Marinette?" Emelie screamed. Marinette was half listening, her strength was leaving her. "Adrien..." she gasped. Adrien paused. "Marinette..." he remembered. "You... you..." Adrien tried to stop. "You're a monster..." he said through clenched teeth. 

"GIVE ME YOUR MIRACULOUS! NOW!" Emelie screamed. But Adrien shook his head convulsively. "You may have created me, but I-" he didn't get any further, Emelie stood up and held her fingers ready to snap. "OBEY," she screamed. Adrien's tears came. "I love you, Marinette," he said and smiled. "Even if I'm just a sentimental monster," he murmured. "Adrien!" Marinette screamed, she wanted to run to him, she wanted to grab him as-

"ADRIEN I FREE YOU!""I CREATED YOU, I WILL DESTROY YOU TOO!"

Then Emelie snapped her fingers.

Adrien screamed in pain.Then he dissolved into blue particles.The blue feather, the Amok, disappeared from the ring and turned white before landing on the ground.

Marinette screamed.Gabriel cried.Adrien was gone.Only the Miraculous fell to the ground.Adrien was finally free.Finally free.
