Marinette didn't understand where she was.

But in front of her stood all the bearers who had once been Ladybug.

All of them. From all eras. And Marinette met them here and now.

"We can finally talk. We can finally contact you," said one of them and smiled. Her dark hair was tied in a tight bun; it was the guardian like something out of a magic book. Marinette tapped the 5000 year old Piáo Chóng. "We're glad to see you," added la Déesse Coccinelle, the 4000 year old Ladybug who was once a goddess. The ribbon in her hair shone mysteriously; her black hair reached down to her neck. "Now let's not waste any more time," said Hippolyta, the queen of the Ladybugs who was at work 3000 years ago. The boy with pale, blue skin agreed. "We're here to help you," explained the warrior. He was the only boy among the Ladybugs. Bo rúa went up to Marinette and smiled at her.

"I don't understand, where am I?" Marinette finally got a word in. The other bearers smiled briefly. "This is the place of the ancestors, Ladybug. Through the Kwatagama you can contact us and see our memories and experiences," explained Bo rúa. Marinette turned around in a circle. Now she understood why Tikki found the Kwatagama so special. It was a bridge to the past! "Okay, so...where should I start?" the girl murmured worriedly. "We know everything. Hawkmoth won in the old reality. And now you are in a completely new reality," Mudangbeolle noted. Marinette nodded. "Yes, something like that," she agreed. "How are we supposed to undo the wish? Does Gabriel Agrest have to do it himself?" Marinette wanted to know.

But the guardians shook their heads. "No, your old reality no longer exists," said the warrior seriously. "I don't understand, can't I wish to go back to the old reality?" Ladybug interjected. There had to be a way! "Not quite. I'll give you an example: your old reality is reality A, but it was replaced by reality B. If you now go back to your old reality, or a similar reality, one thing will change because of the price and it will become the new reality C," explained Jeanne d'Arc. Marinette looked around helplessly. What should she do then? "You would have to get Gabriel to wish for a reality C that is exactly like your old one. He will lose Emelie, but everything will be back to normal," suggested Hippolyta.

"You don't have much time. Hurry up," said Piáo Chóng. Marinette's dream world slowly began to fade. "Wait, I still have so many questions!" she called. "We'll see each other soon, Ladybug," and with these words they disappeared into the fog.

Drenched in sweat, Marinette woke up in Cat Noir's arms.

"Marinette! Thank God! I thought so..." he didn't finish the sentence, he didn't even want to imagine what would have happened to Marinette. "It's fine, I was... just talking to the other bearers of the Ladybug Miraculous. Through the Kwatagama," she explained and stood up. Her legs were still shaking a little.

"There is only one way. Your father has to wish for another reality that is like our old one so that everything can be put right," she said. Cat Noir thought for a moment, then took her hand. "So be it, milady!" he said. The two looked at each other for a moment, then Marinette transformed and they continued on their way to the Agrests' villa.

Gabriel stared at Emelie with wide eyes, then at her half-dead sister in the capsule. No. No. And no again. That couldn't be true! "I-I don't understand," he stammered. Gabriel wanted his Emelie, he wanted to reach for her, but... it wasn't her. It wasn't the Emelie he once knew. This Emelie was Mariposa... she was Hawkmoth... but..."It was an accident..." Emelie murmured and looked at her sister in the capsule, a sad smile flitting across her face.

Emelie Agrest transformed into Mariposa, then a butterfly floated on her hand. Delicate and loving. She let it flutter further. "My sister and her husband, Graham. They were sitting in the car... and then..." the words came with difficulty from her lips. A tiny tear rolled down her face. "Then there was this stupid accident. A truck crashed into her side. Graham died instantly... and Amelie..." she sobbed. Her hand clenched around the staff. "She fell into a coma. I tried everything, believe me, but the doctors said... it was pointless. They wanted to turn her off. I decided against it," her voice was weak and trembling. Gabriel didn't want to believe it.

"No. No... Emelie, I beg you... this is not the right way," he begged her. She looked at him sadly. Only now did it begin to dawn on Gabriel that he was looking at himself. He was the same. He was just as bad a monster. It was only because of Emelie that he had gone this far. It was only because of her that he had started to seek Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous. The stones had clouded his mind... what... what... had he just done...?

"I don't want to see her suffer anymore... Gabriel, do you understand?! I've already used the peacock Miraculous, the butterfly Miraculous won't do much harm! I need Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous!" she gasped. Her lips trembled, tears dried on her cheeks. Gabriel shook his head. "Where is Nathalie?!" he wanted to know angrily. Emelie, Mariposa, it didn't matter, looked at him confused. "Who is Nathalie?" she wanted to know. Gabriel paused. "Our... assistant... your... best friend," he whispered. What did that mean? Was this... the price... for his wish? Was this... the price... for Emelie being alive? "No... that... can't be... Nathalie doesn't exist in this reality... now I understand what Alya meant by that," he gasped. His knees went weak. He hadn't wanted this. Nathalie. It gave him a sharp stab in the chest... what had he done! "My wish... created a completely different reality..." he whispered.

"THAT'S NOT WHAT I WANTED!" he yelled with tears in his eyes, turning away from Emelie. She looked at him in shock. "Everything... all I wanted was to be a normal, complete family again! This doesn't make any sense!" he raised his eyes, closed his eyes and imagined Nathalie. Her beautiful eyes, her soft voice... how he hadn't listened to her... He had treated her so badly. Hey, what an idiot. "Tell me, is this a joke?" Gabriel shouted and walked towards Emelie. Emelie was frightened and took a step back. Her eyes were watery, her whole body was shaking. "How can you say something like that!" she shouted back, angry and hurt. "This is all your fault! YOURS!" she screamed, the air leaving her lungs.

"MINE? It's..." Gabriel hesitated. It really was all his fault. "Yes, you're right... it's... all my fault... I just wanted to bring you back. But..." he trailed off. He looked down, dejected. "I should have just let go," he gasped. Emelie froze, she dropped her hands. "What...?" her voice was barely more than a quiet breath.

The silence between the two became unbearable. There would be no happy ending in this world. Not like this. Not here.

Ladybug and Cat Noir entered Gabriel Agrest's office, but found no one there. Neither Nathalie nor Ann were in the house - perhaps they don't even exist. "And what do we do now?" Ladybug wanted to know. Adrien hesitated for a moment. He rummaged in his pockets, suddenly remembering. He pulled out the strange magnifying glass.

"What is that?" Ladybug wondered and examined the object curiously. "We'll see in a moment," murmured Chat and put on the glasses. Suddenly the magnifying glass started to show him fingerprints on the picture of his mother. "It looks like the device is showing us all the secrets," he murmured and went to the picture. Ladybug did the same, feeling uneasy. Cat Noir pressed the buttons when they were suddenly taken down in an elevator. "Help," he howled, the two of them chugged into a huge basement.

"Wow... what... is that?" Ladybug breathed in astonishment. "I didn't know father had something like that. He never mentioned that we had a basement," Adrien replied, just as surprised. The two heroes stepped out of the elevator and recognized two people on the platform. "Is that Gabriel Agrest?" Ladybug wanted to know. The two approached the platform when Cat Noir stopped in surprise. "Mother?" he breathed as the person in the purple suit turned to him. "Gabriel, please," she begged the man. "Emelie," he just gasped. Then his eyes met Chat's.

"Adrien?" he wondered. "What's going on here?" Ladybug wanted to know. Emelie went to Gabriel. "You're finally here... I'm going to end the game... I'm going to fight you one last time as Mariposa," Emelie hissed. "Mom," Adrien sobbed. She was really standing in front of him. Emelie didn't understand. "Adrien?" she whispered. Then she burst into tears and fell to her knees. Her son...was Cat Noir? That...couldn't be...She gasped. "I'm so sorry"

"I'm so terribly sorry...Adrien"
