CHAPTER 35

NAGISING ako na may humahaplos sa pisngi ko. Unti-unti kong dinilat ang mga mata ko. Napako ang paningin ko sa mga mata niya na nakatitig sa'kin. His eyes never failed to amuse me, is it possible to be in love and fall harder?

"How's your sleep, wife?" His tone was gentle and soft. He damped a tender kiss on my nose. Until now, I still cannot believe that we are now okay, and after many years we are now officially together — not just husband and wife but lovers.

"Okay lang, si Milo pala?"

"Ang sabi mo he's—"

Agad akong napabangon nang maalala na kailangan ko pang pumunta sa bahay ni Lucard. Ngunit agad niya akong hinila kaya napayakap ako sa kanya.

"Don't panic, sabay tayong pupunta doon, alas tres pa lang naman ng hapon." Napakunot ang noo ko, "Alas tres na? Eh bakit hindi mo ako ginising?"

"Tsk. You're tired and you need to take a rest. Come here, I miss you."

He suddenly hugged me from behind. I was wearing his shirt, and he was only in his boxers. I turned to him and stared at his face. I closed my eyes when he pressed our foreheads together.

"I love you so much, Milk. I will do everything for you and for our son, and for the upcoming baby."

Napatambol na lang bigla ang dibdib ko sa sinabi niya at hinaplos ang tiyan ko.

"H-hindi naman ako buntis, Lucian." I shook my head, but why does it feel like I am defending myself? Dahil siguro ilang beses nang may nangyari sa amin at posibleng mabuntis ulit ako. It is not that I am not yet ready to get pregnant again, nagsisimula pa lang kasi kaming buuin ang pamilya namin. My heart suddenly leaped thinking my son will experience having a complete family.

"Do you think hindi na kita bubuntisin ulit? Papayag ka ba, wife?" Nakatitig niyang sabi, napailing naman ako sa kanya.

"I love you, Lucian, kahit mahirap kakayanin ko para sa'yo but I still want to give our attention to Milo, just for now. But if you already impregnated me, I'll gladly accept it, ikaw naman ang tatay nila eh."

He kissed my lips, and I saw his melting smile. I was incredibly nervous, and I admit that I am going crazy when I see him smile or laugh. He has the most expensive smile, and I am glad I am able to see it freely.

"Thank you, my Milk. I just want a baby girl because I want to see a new version of you in our baby girl. So you should follow me, baby, so she'll look exactly like you."

"Ganun pala 'yon?" natatawa kong sabi dahil ang seryoso ng mukha niya habang sinasabi niya iyon, na akala mo ganun talaga ang mangyayari kapag sumunod ako sa kanya.

"Ahuh, you're so beautiful, you know that?"

Pakiramdam ko ay nag-init bigla ang pisngi ko sa sinabi niya, nakikiliti ako sa mga bulong niya.

"Ang gwapo mo rin." Napangiti siya sa'kin, at hinigpitan ang yakap niya.

"You're blushing, my Milk, and you look so cute, as always."

I heard his soft laughter as I rested my head on his chest. I squeezed his hand, which was wrapped around my stomach.

"Lucian, I forgot to thank you. Thank you for taking care of Mom and Dad. Thank you for protecting me. I wouldn't know that all pain is worth it until I was back again in your arms, and I'm sorry for what I said to you, instead of—" I couldn't finish because he kissed me on the lips, stopping me from talking.

"Stop, stop asking for apologies already. I deserve it anyway, and I love you, that's why I did it. It's part of my responsibility because they're also my parents, right? And I vowed to protect you and I will be glad to do that for the rest of my life."
