NAVINA
It's Monday. Tomorrow is the first day back to school after Thanksgiving weekend. Halloween is this week, though, so there might be a party or something going on. I will probably go, but unlike last time, I'll try to have fun and not get drugged.
I walk into my room at nine now, having showered, and we watched a movie in the living room. Neo decided to watch a movie with us today. I close my door and walk to my bed, sighing as I look at my phone. I texted Caden last night, but he never replied. I also texted him on Saturday, the day after we went to the lake.
I sit on my bed, the mattress slowly falling with my weight. I hear a groan and quickly get up. "Oh my god!" I scream as I see a body sprawled on my bed. I turn on my light, trying to see who it is. "Caden?" I whisper.
I hear footsteps. "Honey, you okay?" my mom's concerned voice speaks.
"I'm fine, I just... fell off my bed."
"Okay, well, good night. Love you."
"Love you too, Mom. Goodnight," I speak aloud. I walk closer to the bed, and Caden rests on his back. The light shines a little on him. I see his eyes closed and a slight cut on his lip. I move closer and see he's wearing his usual black long-sleeve t-shirt and black sweatpants.
I walk closer and tap his shoulder. "Caden?" I whisper to him. He groans and stirs, his brows furrowing as he flutters his eyes open. He tries to get up but groans, taking a sharp, pained intake of breath. "What happened? How did you get in here?" I question as his eyes roam around the room.
"I couldn't go anywhere else," he whispers.
"What happened?"
A faint smile graces his lips. "I think you already know, sweetheart." My stomach drops, and so does my heart.
"Are you hurt badly?" I ask, moving closer to the bed until it touches my thighs.
"I think I'm bleeding... badly," he mentions.
"Where?"
I notice his hand is placed on his side. I look there and back up. "There?" I ask, touching his hand. He nods his head. "Are you bleeding there?" I ask, inspecting the wound. The light doesn't show much, and he is wearing all black.
"I think so," he grunts out, moving slightly.
"Okay, okay, stop moving. Just... just stay there. I'll get the first aid kit from the bathroom," I whisper and walk to the door without his commentary. I open the door slowly. The low creak of the door makes me frown.
Stupid door.
I try to slide my way through. The TV is on downstairs, and everyone's doors are closed. I make it to the bathroom without turning on the light as I open the cabinet at the bottom and kneel. I feel my hand around until I find the kit at the back. I pick it up and walk back to my room, tiptoeing.
I close my door soundlessly and smile. Finally,
I walk to the bed and see Caden's eyes closed. "Caden?"
His eyes flutter open again. His pupils are large until they shrink, probably adjusting to the light. "Yeah?" he manages.
I swallow. "Can I, um, lift up your shirt?" I ask in a whisper.
He smiles still. "You really are kinky," he groans out.
I roll my eyes. "This is important, Caden. You're bleeding now. Can I lift your shirt?" I ask again.
"Yeah," he whispers.
I nod and move my hands slowly to his shirt. I lift up the black fabric and see a slash that looks like a knife wound. It's not too deep, but it's still bleeding. I shine the light more on the wound and wince at it. Gross.
