CADEN

I watch as green walks down the driveway. I close my eyes for a moment waiting for River. Maybe he won't do much since Roxanne is here...  I turn around slowly feeling the panic arise.

What if he thinks I told her? He knows we have been spending a lot of time together and she showed up. She has been in here and she has seen River, seen what he does... What will he do to her?

Slowly turning around I see River still at the top of the stares. His gaze cuts through me, the pure unadulterated terror settling in every part of my body. "Hey, Caden, so who was that?" I turn snapping out of it as Roxanne speaks walking from the kitchen.

I clear my throat, tearing my gaze away from River and to a smiling roxanne. "A friend" I speak silently and I notice River walking downstairs. His heavy footsteps make me swallow disdain as Roxanne walks next to the stairs. One good thing about having Roxanne here is that River has less opportunity to get punchy.

"You guys have... chemistry. Are you sure your just friends?" she then said smiling more. I nod and smile a little. River makes it down the stairs and walks right next to roxanne and takes a sip of her water. I watch as Adam's apple bobs and Roxanne smiles but shakes her head at him. "Can't you get your own water deer?" She speaks with a cocked brow and a sly humorfull grin.

"I'd rather take yours." River smiles at her. His dark, cold eyes glinting as he watches her. He used to look at my mom that way, and then he pointed a gun on her forehead with not one ounce of remorse coating his eyes.

God, I'm gonna throw up.

I start walking up the stairs and I hear Roxanne and River retreating to the living room. A gut feeling settles in my stomach and an aching to get out.... But i know what will happen if i do. That's why I haven't seen Navina. I couldn't even go to school since River hurt me so badly. My left leg was almost broken, thankfully it wasn't but I couldn't go to school. Hopefully he will let me go back soon. I can't be here anymore. In this house, in this body, in this mind. It's exhausting in a way that sleep won't fix. The silent screams and the silence was just too much. Plus I only have a couple more pills left and I don't know how long I can go without them. We all know what happened when I stopped taking them. Well River and my mom.

The creak of my door opening awakens me and I flutter my eyes open looking around my dark room. I see the door creaking open and a tall figure walking in. my stomach drops and I'm immediately awake. I don't see any light from outside so it must be night and Roxanne is probably gone.

I gulp disdain as I turn in my bed, the comforter moving with me and my sweatpants. I notice River's figure and his scent invades me. My stomach drops. I try to stay calm. Why would he hurt me more, he already took his load a couple days ago. I also don't think he wants me to stay here for another couple of days either.

"You're going to school tomorrow," his rough cigarette voice says. As he nears closer the little light from the window shines on him. His hair is still pristine but more ruffled, he's in more casual clothes and it looks like he just woke up. Is it morning already? He walks closer to my bed. "If you tell that girl anything..." his voice sounds of venom spitting out "I will kill her. You know I can, boy." he spits out. I just stare too frozen to speak. "And cover up those damn bruises on your arm." he then spits out and I notice his silhouette turning.

I hear the door clothes and it's like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I take a deep breath out trying to calm down but my hand starts a tremor and I get out of bed immediately and go to my closet and see the pill bottle only containing two pills in the bottle. I guess that will have to do. I swallow them down easily. I then walk out of my room, the stretching early silence racks me and I notice the little sunlight peeking from the window. What time is it?
