CADEN

It's monday. November 21st and its three thirty. I thought the nerves would have ended then but they are not currently subsiding. The pills aren't helping and the moment I walk into the house after parting ways from Navina after a very long day at school I hear indistinct chatter from the kitchen.

River said to be home earlier than four and here I am. I close the door and my hand tightens around my bag strap as I start to walk up the stairs. "Caden! Are you here?" I hear the river's voice boom from the kitchen and I feel the emptiness all through me. The moment my stomach drops and I take a deep breath trying to pull myself together. This is not the time to have a little depression day.

"Ya." I then stop at the stairs and I start walking to the kitchen. I see roxanne smiling brightly at me and i offer a small one not having the energy right now. I see River in front of the kitchen table in a suit and tie and I notice Roxanne wearing a fancy navy blue dress as well. "What's happening?" i than ask with a raised brows.

"Well you need to get the suit that I left you in your room. We are leaving to go to a charity event at five in a hurry." river that says with a cold smile.

I nod and turn on my heel making my way up the stairs. The stairs creak early as I make my way up the stairs. I go straight to my room and see the crisp black suit on the bed and black dress shoes on the ground beside it. I rummage in my bag trying to find the pill bottle. Once I find it I take four and put them back. I grab the suit and with a heaved sigh I go to change.

—-------------------

NAVINA: Where are you pretty boy? I haven't heard from you in hours.

I stare at the unopened text from Navina and I sigh, contemplating telling her... I should. Before I can type anything out I feel a cool hand on my shoulder making me tense at the contact. I pocket my phone immediately and turn to see a woman smiling seductively at me. Her brown hair in a side part and curled. Her brown eyes look into mine. The big light at the top of this huge ass mansion shines on her eyes casting a glare.

"Hello there, what's your name handsome?" Her voice is deep and seductive as I move away from her touch trying to take a breath.

"None of your business." i spit out and turned to walk the other way of her. I take a disgruntled sigh as i see river and roxanne smiling as they talk to some old guy and his flavor for the month. I walk the other way into a long hallway. Once I see that I'm alone I pull out my phone and text Navina that I'm at some dumb charity gala. She doesn't respond for a couple minutes so I pocket my phone and I walk outside of the mansion.

The breeze hits my face as i open the balcony door and walk outside. The darkness envelopes the city as i see the car lights and light showing the street. The little bit of fog makes Boston look surreal. I haven't been back to Boston since we first moved... I have to say I'm not missing it much. Well except for Jesper.

I hear the door open and I turn around seeing the same woman. Her brown eyes lock on mine and she looks like she's coming from a cloak when the darkness surrounds her. Her brown hair flows in the wind and she smiles as she walks up to me. Her hands going on the balcony slick and calloused hands. With a ring... on her left index finger. I scoff without realizing I say it outloud.

"What?" she wonders as her brown gaze looks at me. I'm not that much taller than her so she is pretty tall. Maybe 5 '9 maybe taller since she's just an inch shorter. "So i'll try this again, what's your name handsome?" she then asks tilting her head a smudge and she puts a hand on her waist and the other goes up sliding down the side of my arm. I frizzle at her touch and she walks closer.

I try to remain calm and not... affected. "How about... none of your damn business.'' I then spit out again as her face went closer to mine. She abandoned the ledge and walked closer to me, her body almost fully pressed against mine. I can feel her cool breath that smells of alcohol and I almost gauge.
