After Christmas Eve dinner Caden disappeared. My dad and mom were worrying almost all night but then they fell asleep somewhere between when I fell asleep which i think was three. I don't know where Caden is, I was going to look but then my dad told me not to since he said Caden was probably just taking a walk because everyone takes 10 hour walks. He also mentioned something happened earlier when I was gone but didn't give me any details.

I don't know what time it is now, but i'm laying on the couch on the left from the longer couch right behind the door. Something startled me when i did wake up. My first thought when I peel my dry eyes open was caden. Is he back? Did i hear him?

When i was with eden i only thought about caden. I felt bad for just leaving him even if we aren't together anymore and don't owe each other anything. But still, I worried about him. I mean I tried not to. Eden invited friends over and we basically got drunk. I didn't... couldn't hook up with anyone. Everytime i would try I would get disgusted. It never felt like what me and caden have... had. It felt wrong, and gross. Very gross. Just sweaty teenagers. It's gross.

Once I look up at the door I notice that I see my mom walking towards me with a smile. Her warm bright smile reaches her eyes. "Morning sweety." She speaks and I notice her holding something in her hand, a mug.

"Morning." i smile. "What's that?" i than frown looking at the mystery mug.

"Well, I made your grandmother's famous eggnog. It's Christmas, you know." my mom mentions.

"Oh ya..'' I then said, ''Thank you.'' I murmur as I take the cup from her warm hands now making my hands warm too. I take a sip, the sweet, bitterness and tastefulness exploding on my tongue. "Good?" i hear my mom ask.

I nod with a smile. 'Very." I say standing as I look around. Did uh.. Is caden back?" I then asked, stuttering unsure of what I should sit.

She smiles with warmth in her smile. "No." she then said with a soft expression, her baby blues glinting in the little snowy light from outside.

I sigh, but take another sip. "He's okay right?" I then asked my mom with a hopeful expression.

She nods. "Hopefully. Caden is a smart boy. I'm sure he's fine, and safe." she then said smiling sure of it as well. I'm sure I'm not all too familiar with it right now.

"Ok well im gonna get ready." i mentioned. "Is neo coming?" I then wondered as I started walking up the stairs.

"Yes, actually he should be coming before dinner starts." she says warmth covering her features still, but surprise flickers in her. Me too. Surprisingly neo is coming. He hasn't been here for a while and has been radio silent for a little. "Oh and here you go. From me and your dad.'' My mom then waddles her way to the front fourier, getting a card that's perched on the little glass table right in front of the door and hands it to me.

I smile while taking it. "Thank you mom.'' I speak with sincerity. "Where dad?'' I then ask confused as to where he is. I didn't actually think about that.

"Oh, he went out looking for caden. He should be back soon.. Hopefully with caden." she says.

I nod and smile softly as I walk up the stairs. I open the envelope and see a couple bills and a sweet note written on the card.

Christmas has really only been normal for us. We never really celebrated with big things or went to family events since dad basically doesn't have any family and mom only has a sister who's taking care of my grandma since she's been sick and a brother who she hasn't spoken to for a while. The only family being us and neo. Ever since Neo's parents died, one of whom is my dads sister, we have only celebrated together. Maybe four years ago was the last christmas with my grandma, but since she got more ill she couldn't come up here anymore and we only go there every once in a while.
