Dynamite was in Portland tomorrow night. Everyone was in Portland already because most had appearances and signings. However Hallie was free to do what she wanted. She and Andrea went furniture shopping. Most of the furniture in Atlanta belonged to Sam. They'd picked out a couch, bed, TV and a kitchen table and chairs. Everything was delivered and setup by that afternoon.
Hallie and Andrea were sitting on the couch relaxing.
"It's coming along nicely." Andrea said.
"Yeah." "The finalization is seeming to drag."
"That's because it's so close." "It'll come soon." "Has Sam remembered anything?"
"A few things." "I hope it comes back fully soon." "Not just for his sake, but for mine." "So I can stop being confused." "I know how he now isn't him anymore, but he's making me second guess myself." "I hate that I'm thinking this way because I'm in love with Max."
"I know how hard this is for you."
Later that night there was a knock at the door. Max was standing there holding a pizza.
"Hi." She said smiling.
"Hi." He went inside. They kissed. "I brought dinner."
After dinner they were sitting on the couch. She was sitting in front on him. They were looking at her phone. They were looking at rental cabins in Lake Tahoe.
"I like this one." Hallie said.
"Me to."
"I know it won't be the warmest weather but it'll still be fun."
"I'll keep you warm don't worry."
She looked at him and smiled. "I'm sure you will."
"As soon as the papers come through let me know." "I'll arrange everything."
"I have something for you." "Here's your house keys." She said handing them to him.
He took them and kissed her. "I love you."
"I love you too."
That Thursday the employees of AEW were helping run a carnival for charity. As Hallie walked into the carnival that night, the first thing she noticed was the ferris wheel.
Flashback
It was Hallie and Sam's second date. Sam took her to a carnival. They'd been having a great time.
"Wanna go up the ferris wheel?" Sam asked.
"Yeah."
They were on the ferris wheel. Their seat was at the very top.
"It's such a beautiful view." Hallie said looking at Sam.
"Yeah it is." They kissed. It was their first kiss.
End Of Flashback
Hallie was in charge of enticing people to come up to a dunk tank, to try and dunk Sam into the water. They were both having fun. Sam had been dunked a dozen times.
"You should take a turn." One of the bystanders said looking at Hallie.
"You guys want me to dunk my own husband?" She said. They all said yes. She got a ball and went and stood at the designated throwing spot.
Sam laughed. "No fair, she was a softball pitcher in high school."
"Sorry Darby." She swung her arm and threw the ball. It hit the target and Sam went down into the water.
He came back up. "You got me baby."
"Yes I did."
After the carnival Hallie walked through the hotel lobby. The door was closing to the elevator. She stopped the doors with her purse and got on. Sam was in there. She went to push the button for her floor but saw Sam already had.
"I had fun tonight." Sam said.
"Me to."
They were walking down the hall.
"Tonight reminded me of something." Sam said.
"Our second date?"
"Yeah."
"I thought about it to."
"Our fifth date sticks out the most to me though." They stopped outside of her room.
"Why, because that night was the first time we had sex?" She asked smiling.
"Well yeah, but you know how special and great that night was."
"It was." "What's the last thing you remember Sam?"
"I was leaving to go skating." "You stopped me before I opened the door, kissed me, said, I love you sweetheart." "I said, I love you too and I left." "The next thing I knew I woke up in the hospital." "Only to find out we're getting a divorce and you hate me." He said with a sad look on his face.
"Sam, I don't hate you, I don't." "I'm just hurt and angry."
He took her hand. "Give me another chance Hal, please." He pulled her closer to him. "I love you." He said drifting closer to her lips.
"I can't Sam."
"Why?"
"This isn't you, this isn't who you really are anymore." They were about to kiss when her phone rang. She unlocked her room and quickly went inside. Sam knew he could win her back. He wasn't going to give up.
"Hello?" She said.
"Come spend the night with me, I'm lonely." Max said.
"Give me five minutes."
"Ok."
"I love you Max."
"I love you too."
