The divorce of Hallie and Sam had came as a shock to almost everybody. Hallie and Max had been together publicly for a month. They had a lot of supporters. However, they also had a lot of detractors. A lot of people thought Hallie moved on to quickly after the divorce. Some accused Hallie of cheating on Sam with Max while they were still married. Some called Max a homewrecker. Hallie felt so bad for Sam. He looked miserable every time she saw him. It made her feel terrible.
It was early in the morning. Hallie came out of Max's hotel room bathroom wrapped in a towel. She went into the bedroom to get some clothes. A few seconds later she felt Max's arms wrap around her. He was also in a towel. He started kissing her shoulder.
"Stop it." She said smiling.
"I can't help it baby, I love you."
"I love you too."
"Wanna go for breakfast at that diner we saw down the street?"
"Yeah."
Later that night Hallie had just gotten to the arena. A production assistant came up to her holding roses.
"These just came for you." She said handing them to her.
She took them. "Thanks." She opened the card. It read.
You deserved a present today. I love you. - Max
Hallie smiled.
Hallie went to Max's locker room and went inside.
"Hey baby." Max said from the couch.
"Hey." She sat down next to him on the couch and kissed him. "Thank you, they're beautiful."
"You're welcome."
"If that was to butter up to sleep with you tonight, I was going to anyway."
"Like I said you deserved a present."
About an hour later Hallie was watching the show on the monitor. Sam was wrestling. He won the match but hurt his shoulder during it. Hallie immediately became concerned. Ten minutes later she was contemplating going to the trainers room to check on him.
"Let it go." She thought. "He's not your husband anymore." "It's not your problem." "He's out of your life, just like you wanted."
Five minutes later Hallie walked into the trainers room. Sam was sitting on the bed alone with an ice pack on his shoulder.
"Hal." He said surprised.
"Are you ok?"
"I will be it's not bad."
"Good." "Have you remembered anything else?"
"A couple things."
"Good."
"I miss you Hallie."
"Sam, don't."
"If you have no feelings for me anymore, why are you here?"
"I was concerned about you." "It was a mistake coming here." She left.
