Hallie had moved in with Max during her sixth month of pregnancy. Hallie's due date was a week overdue. She and Max were going to the hospital tomorrow so she could be induced. Hallie and Max were at home. Max was giving Hallie a foot massage on the couch.

"Thank you honey." Hallie said. "That feels great."

"You're welcome."

"I can't wait to meet our son tomorrow."

"Me either."

"I'm nervous though."

"About the labor?"

"Yeah."

"I'll be right there with you."

"Thank god." "I don't think I could do it without you."

At nine the next morning Hallie had just gotten the shot to induce labor. Six hours later she was finally delivering.

"I'm tired Max." Hallie said exhaustedly.

"I know but you're doing great Hallie."

"The baby's head is out." The doctor said. "One more push." She pushed as hard as she could, then heard crying.

After getting cleaned off he was wrapped up and handed to Hallie. He had a full head of brown hair.

"He's beautiful." Hallie said happily "Look at all of his hair."

"He's perfect." "I can't believe he's finally here."

A half hour later a nurse was in the room checking Hallie's vitals. Hallie was breastfeeding the baby. The baby opened his eyes for the first time. They were blue. It reminded her of Sam's eyes.

"Oh." Hallie said surprised.

"What?" Max asked.

"The baby's eyes are blue." "I figured his eyes would be green or brown."

"It's rare to parents with green or brown eyes but a baby can have blue eyes." The nurse said.

Max had known in that moment, that the DNA technician had probably forged the results. He didn't care though. He had his family now and he wasn't going to lose them.
